So gross...

So the poison ivy on my right arm turned out to be poison oak (Umm...isn't that supposed to be found primarily on the West Coast? Last time I checked I lived in New York...Leave it to me to get something that isn't even supposed to be here!
). At least I wasn't completely wrong in my assumptions, though...the poison on my legs and feet is indeed poison ivy.
My doctor popped all the nasty pus-filled bubbles (yeah, gross, right?) on my arm and told me to keep the area clean and dry. It's really gone down and looks a lot better, for sure, but as it's clearing up, it's majorly scabbing over and making my skin feel soooo tight! Not to mention it looks like I have this huge crevice in my arm! I'm going to be so sad if this stupid stuff leaves a scar...I feel like such a leper!
Okay, now that I have sufficiently grossed you out, I'm sure, onto something else...
Mother's Day was quite nice! Unlike most of you it seems, I didn't have to travel (My IL's live right across the street!) and my day was not hectic at all. Tyler and I skipped church, lounged about a while together, and then walked over to his parent's place for Sunday Lunch with the family. Sunday Lunch is sacred in this family...Everyone on his mom's side of the family gets together every Sunday at one of the relative's homes for a big Sunday meal! It can get pretty crazy sometimes but since the weather was so nice, we all just hung out on the patio! So nice! After we all ate, I walked back across the street to our apartment, while Tyler stayed and hung out with his family. I love my IL's, and my MIL and I in particular are super close, but I needed some alone time to cry and miss my own Momma. Tyler was so understanding and gave me time to be all sad and sappy by myself. I planted some herbs, some daisies, and repotted a fern we just got, and just spent some time cheering myself back up! It was great!
Work is going well, but both me and my elementary students are both really wanting summer right now! I'm so looking forward to next year, when I finally won't be a first year teacher!
Right now I'm in a ridiculously long grade meeting and all I want is to go home and crash...It has seriously felt like such a long day...
Hope everyone has had a good Monday!
