What makes you happy?

I'm in a particularly good mood today.

Last night, Tyler and I went out to dinner with his brother J and J's girlfriend. We originally were going to go to this place called The Muse and Aquatic Lounge (Scary, right? Stick out tongue), but (thankfully!) the restaurant was closed and we headed over to our favoriate Italian place! It was so much fun to just sit around, talk, and enjoy a great meal together! It's the kind of place where they definitely don't rush you out so we were there for a good three hours. Good times.

I also slept really well last night! I fell asleep pretty quickly and didn't have to get up to pee until almost 4. And even after I had gotten up to go to the bathroom, I fell back asleep pretty easily as well!

Lately, I've been feeling like an absolutely horrible teacher because I feel like I'm focusing more on myself these days and not my students, but this morning, after a talk with my principal (once again, about my leave Stick out tongue), I'm feeling pretty good about work as well. I also only have one class this morning to teach, and some Halloween-related activities to attend before my day is over! Not to mention that I don't have any classes tomorrow due to all the holiday celebrations going on.

(And a quick update on my leave: My principal spoke to the head of school who verified the information I gave her. My principal is still so against me coming back and creating a "disturbance" for my students with another change and the head of school is now talking to our HR guy about making an "exception" to the leave policy, allowing me to remain out the rest of the year and still get paid during the summer. It's not what I really want, but as long as I get paid during the summer, can pack up my room myself at the end of the year, and still get a Letter of Agreement for next school year, I'll take it...I'll probably be wishing death upon myself in August after not working so long, of course, but it is what it is...)

So, back to the title of the post...All those things I mentioned (minus the leave) makes me happy. What makes you happy?

Today happiness just came to me out of the blue. It was just one of those days that I was in a good mood when I woke up. Usually what makes me happy is snuggling with DH, laughing with the kids so hard I cry, and knowing the bills are paid and I don't have to stress. Those all make me thrilled! Glad you had a nice night and they are working out your leave!

what makes me happy? a clean house, stocked fridge, having a good handle on things at work, bills paid, money in the bank, when all my relationships with family and friends are thriving, fresh air, when I have something to look forward to (a holiday, a trip, etc), being close to my DH, living in the moment but dreaming about the future...

Halloween counts as "Holiday Celebrations" to miss class over.  Where was that crap when I was a student!?

I am happy when I get enough sleep.  Last night I didn't (two pee breaks and a dog pee break and Boston woke up early) but most of this week I have slept well.

I am happy when I eat pizza.  I love pizza.

What makes me happy: not having to worry about money, take-out, food in general, my dogs, sleep, books, dancing, rainy Sundays when I have nothing to do, weekend trips

What makes me happy is having one of those days with nothing to do and not feeling guilty for not doing things (work, cleaning, etc.) and of course everytime i look at my puppy (esp when she snuggles me) that makes me happy (pets really do lower your BP)

What makes me happy is a really fun night out to dinner with friends, my new little puppy, spending a relaxing weekend with DH, and vacations to warm places!

I had a really good, productive day at work yesterday too.  I was rushing around like a mad thing but achieving so much (although I tried to relax a little for my LO's health!) and it made me really happy.

I am really happy lying in our hammock in the back yard, which we strung up last weekend! (Hopefully it means summer is on its way, although this week we've had another cold snap...)  I am also really happy snuggled up on the couch when it's cold and rainy outside, listening to the rain and reading a good book.  And having a great dinner with friends and family is probably top of the list, I'm with you there!

What makes me happy?  Completing a knitting project, cuddling up with calm and happy kids & hubby and not burning dinner when I try something different :)
