So I'm going to try to blog more this week because I have been slacking lately. Granted my new job keeps me way busier than my last one, but I think I will try to blog in the evenings. Anyway...moving on.
Chris and I received a monetary gift from his parents, which was so nice of them. Especially since it's enough to pay off his credit cards and have some left over for some needed car maintenance like new tires and a 30,000 mile check up. We're excited about that.
We also decided to take a lump sum from my grandfather's annuity so I will be able to pay off all my credit cards and we are looking into buying a new car. We currently have a Jeep and a Subaru and I want to get another Subaru and get rid of the Jeep (it is such a gas hog). After test driving a few different models, I am trying to decide between the new Forester or a 5-door Impreza. I'm leaning towards the Impreza since we're not planning on having a family for a few more years. But knowing my luck, we'd buy that one and then I'd get pregnant and then have to trade it in for the Forester or Tribeca. That would be ok I guess, I just want to make the best decision for us right now. The other thing is that Chris doesn't really like hatchbacks that much so I may just end up getting the Forester. I mean, it will be my car and I'll drive it most of the time, but when we got the Outback last year, I know Chris thought about what I would like before making his decision. So I feel like I should consider what he likes before making my final decision. Granted, I have to wait for the payment from my annuity before I can actually buy a car. I just got so excited trying out the different models. I want one today....oh well. Patience is a virtue right?
Work is still going well. Married life is still going well. We got my mom a 3 month subscription to eHarmony for her 50th birthday and she just got it set up last week. She's been asking me to look at all her matches and tell her what I think... which kind of defeats the purpose in my opinion. Isn't the point to meet someone who is right for her? Why does it matter what I think? I don't care what the guy looks like as long as he is good for her and to her. And I don't think she should let my opinion and judgements sway her decisions in any way. I'm sure that if she does find someone to spend the rest of her life with, I will like him anyway.
That's it for this week's update... time to take the kids to the dog park.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
