Today's Been So-So

My biggest gripe about today is that Andy told me that we still have to pay the put-off interest because we were a few days late in paying it off.  I'm just livid because I asked him to call and tell them that we would be paying it off and if they could not charge us all that interest.  (A few years ago Andy bought a new TV and put it on a Best Buy credit card because they advertised no interest for x amt of time if you paid it off)  But instead he just paid for it online and at the end of the month we paid off the rest of it.  Today he finds out that we still owe them $600 in interest because it was late.  Really?  So he calls them today after work and the lady says that if he had been timely in his payments they would have no problem with disregarding the interest.  But since Andy's really crappy about paying bills on time, they cut it in half.  Which is still good to get that discount, but still really sucks.  This is the reason why I took over paying the bills because he was always paying them late.  But since he's got a few cards of his own, I simply tell him how much and on which pay date he can pay them.  Then he forgets and then they slap on a $40 late charge and it's ridiculous.  So that's my biggest gripe of the day.

On the other hand, it was gorgeous outside today.  Andy was late for lunch (had to finish up some urgent stuff at work) so we started on our errands later in the afternoon.  Jax entertained himself while I tried on a couple of outfits for Easter and then was a stinker while we ran into K-Mart quick.  But he fell fast asleep once we got home.  When Andy came back I didn't feel like driving all the way to the YMCA to go running, so I tossed on a sweatshirt and went running outside.  Even though it's only 50, it feels wonderful after having all these weeks of below zero temps!  I didn't run too far because I don't want what happened to me last week to happen again this week!  (Last week I ran on the treadmill for the first time in forever and my legs were sooo cramped for 5 days)  Then we ate a yummy supper and I've been contemplating trying to finish my book.

I'm super excited about this weekend.  Every year on the Saturday closest to St. Patty's Day there's a city-wide bar run.  We start at the bar on top of the hill, run down the hill, and then stop at every bar in town.  Underneath all the drunkenness it's actually a race.  You can sign up a team if you want; in order to win, your entire team needs to get their cards signed by someone at every bar and then return to a designated spot first.  I'm not sure what you win, but it's probably something kinda cool.  I have never gone, but Andy's gone the past 3-4 years.  Our friends from out-of-town are coming and my boss and I are going together.  On Saturday we've got a fun-filled morning planned to get ready and our outfits are all planned out.

I initially wanted to start tanning again, but am mostly a chickensh*t about it.  Last year I started going tanning again just to get some color and then after one day discovered I had large white spots all over my back.  They didn't go away for a week or two and I figured out it was a bacteria from the beds.  Needless to say I haven't really wanted to go tanning again.  But today I bought Neutrogena micromist self-tanner and it seemed to go on alright.  Last time I used a micromist it was L'Oreal and it was a huge disaster.  I looked like an orange!

Anyhow, I'm excited for this week to be over so I can party with my friends!  Jax will be with his grandparents so we've got the house all to ourselves.  I've warned my husband to tell his mom to NOT cut Jax's hair because I WILL be upset.  She 'trimmed' it last time she was here and I was not impressed.
