Random thoughts of the day

Friendly's

Ok, so Andrew and I had a pretty late dinner tonight.  We had gone shoe shopping because on my way into work today my flip-flop broke, meaning I walked through half of the hospital with one barefoot (oops!), and I had to staple it back together.  So after taking WAY too much time shopping, we went to Moe's to get some dinner, but it was 5 min after they closed, so we decided to go to Friendly's.

The one we went to is brand spanking new, and it's super nice, except that for some reason, there is a huge flat screen TV on the wall that always has ESPN on it.

Now, I don't really associate Friendly's with sports, and nothing about it screams sports bar to me.  I thought it was supposed to be a family kind of place, why do we have to have a freaking huge TV on the wall?  What's the point of having it in the center of the huge wall?  And why ESPN?  I just don't get it.  It's completely out of place.  However, their Buffalo chicken wrap was especially good tonight :)

I miss Friendly's!  I certainly don't associate them as being sports-related.  Definitely family-style.  I remember all of the delicious desserts I had there back in the day--yum!

re: Friendly's

Sports at Friendly's?  Crazy.  They shut down most of the Friendly's in my area because they could never manage to hire a decent staff and it took years to get your food or any sort of service at all.  So people stopped going.  Had they just paid attention to the customer from day 1, maybe we'd still have a lot of Friendly's.  We do still have one in the area.  I must admit though, I stopped going when they got rid of the Snicker's Sundae (no more Snickers topping, no more René).
