Random thoughts of the day

When you need them most...

Posted Saturday, May 24, 2008 10:09 PM

It was a fairly rough day at work.  It started badly and then was just so busy the rest of the day.  And of course, this is the day Andrew went back home for the night to go to a bachelor party.  I saw him for about 20 min this morning, and he left while I was at work, and I got home late from work last night, so hadn't seen him much.  So I came home all deflated and had no real dinner, had a dog who wouldn't stop whining at EVERYTHING, and had no Andrew to unload on.  So I heated up some soup and talked to my mom for an hour and started on a glass of wine, and he called me to check in and say a quick hi.  I was a bum and tried to get him to chat, but I heard his buddies in the background so i felt bad and let him go have fun.

The girls at work who have been married for 10+ years were telling me to enjoy it and sleep in the middle of the bed, but I guess I'm not at that point yet because I'd rather fight for the covers and smack him when he snores and kick him when he tries to go all bed comando and steal my side of the bed.  I only work a few days a week so I do have quite a bit of alone time, I don't get tons of time with him.  Bit of a bummer.  So Super Troopers and Casa Larga wine it is!

Yeah, I only enjoy time away from Matt when I am really in the mood for some alone time, otherwise, I am bored and sad :(

I love alone time... but it's because I don't get any.  Therefore, it's a rare commoditity.  However, sometimes it's not so nice to sleep alone, so I hear you on that point.  I hope that your next day at work is a better one.

We are pretty independent people. We both have a lot of alone activities that we do, but I sometimes get lonely when he is away. Depends on my mood though. I can relate to the dog that whines. Lucy will whine at me all the time. Its so annoying. I guarantee that if I just let her sit on the couch with me she would stop whining, but I am not ready to start that habit for her!

I personally love my alone time too.  My husband goes to the bar and meets up with friends and family every single Thursday, and that's my favorite night of the week because I catch up on my DVR shows and eat all the foods Chris hates.  I hope you still enjoyed your alone time and slept in the middle of the bed.
