Feeling the Burn

As in burn-out. I think I've finally had it with the house, the job, the extras at work I'm doing, and the constantly booked weekends. There is a conference in DC I could have been chosen to go to for work, and I really wanted to go. Talk about a great professional opportunity. However, I've also been part of this hospital wide governance system they are trying to get up and running, and I went to a certification review course and I went to training to learn a new scheduling program that I will have to teach my unit how to use, starting about the time of this conference. So I didn't put my name in to go. I think it might have been overkill...
On top of the work stuff going on, all the weekends from now till October are filling up fast. Either we are supposed to go somewhere, or people are coming here, or I'm working (every third weekend). On top of this, the house still needs our attention, projects are piling up again, and I'd like to fit this whole training for the half marathon in at some point! It's hard to be consistent with that when my schedule is all over the place. My work days are my rest days from running. I work 12 hour shifts on my feet all day....hardly a real rest, so now I have shinsplints, yippie!
So that's why I'm feeling a little burnt. I'm just bummed that I'll miss this conference, would have been a great opportunity. However, I think my sanity probably needs more attention at this point!
