Finally a weekend to ourselves!

We had a pretty good weekend, and we didn't have to go anywhere or have anyone visit! I was supposed to work Saturday, but got to be on call which was good because I was supposed to make food for my friend's bridal shower Sunday. Those dang tea sandwiches are pretty intimidating, I'll tell you that! So Sat. I made sandwich fillings, sanded and primed the remaining upper cabinets (except the bottoms of them...kinda forgot you can see those!), and watched Olympics allll day long, pretty good day.
Then Sunday, we got up and ran, and it was my longest run ever at 8.5 miles, in about an hour and a half (Andrew has run the Boilermaker before, about 9+ miles). We didn't even take a break until after an hour (and we are a bunch of dumbasses cuz we didn't have water with us). Pretty good workout. Our neighborhood was built on a big hill, so no matter what run we do, we have to do some sort of hill work. Except for the big blister on my foot where I've been getting one all year, I feel pretty good! I think that definitely helps me mentally for that 10 miler coming up in training in a couple weeks!
We got back and Andrew helped me make my sandwiches, and then went to the shower, had some good girl time. I had gone shopping on Thursday with some friends and the one girl's kids (1 and 3) and we got all sorts of terrible things for her at Spencer's (picture a double stroller in the bachelorette section of that store, and picture a toddler picking up every penis thing he can find and asking if he can have it, and then knocking over the stripper pole...pretty funny!). The Naughty Nurse outfit was a favorite, especially with the one year old, who thought putting the box in his mouth was a good idea...Beth's fiancée thought it was good too ;) Good times had by all.
It's so nice to have your weekends to yourselves every now and then. Looking forward to the fall when things slow down and maybe we can stop and I can enjoy my favorite season...summer seems to be a bit of a wash at this point. Bummer.
