I was really close to my dad's dad and went to Oklahoma to visit him the week before he died. He passed away on the 21st, and I took off the whole next week (Thanksgiving week, and I was working retail at the time) to spend with my family.

Nov 26 - We buried Papa on what would have been his 65th wedding anniversary with his wife. It was such a sad day, but at the same time so joyful, because we are a family that celebrates at any possible chance. :D

Nov 27 - Thanksgiving. We are convinced this was the day we conceived Lily.

And now here we are, with a baby! lol

She's quite the world traveler!

Lily and I are going somewhere again this weekend, we are going to the ILs Thursday-Saturday night. I really wasn't planning on it, but I am starting to feel bad that my parents see Lily 2-3 times a month, and the ILs really only see her every other month. Part of it is that my parents are only about an hour away and his are 3 hours, but still.

I am forcing myself to take her out there because I don't want to get gun shy about it. I am giving myself every chance to not feel awkward, if that makes any sense. It is just awkward to be around them, and I know it has to do with our parenting style. Not that we are doing any disiplining (yet anyway), but it is just strange.

I was hoping that J2 wasn't going to go home this weekend, so that I could actually get a word in, but he is. He won't be home until Friday night, though, and I am going out there Thursday afternoon (get this, I totally have it planned out to be in Grand Island at lunchtime so that I can eat McDonalds. YES!!), so I will get to visit with everyone.

And ooooooooh, I'm getting a massage. I.am.so.excited! I have been so stiff and achey the last couple weeks, I'm not sure why, so I called Aunt H and asked if she could squeeze me in for a massage. I also asked the girls if they would babysit, they'll be so excited! lol

Ok, that's all I know. She is allowed to just have a cranky day. Not every single little wimper has to have a "reason."

Ok, moving on. Josh's first day - or, rather, night - went well. Mine, however, did not. I went to bed around 10:30 when Josh went to work after we did our devotions and prayed, but I didn't get to sleep until around midnight. Then I was awake every couple hours and was surprised to be on Josh's side of the bed until I realized he wasn't there. I woke up when he got home at ten after 7, and Lily was up and hiccuping, so I knew it wouldn't be long before she was wanting out of bed. So I didn't even get to cuddle or anything before I had to go get Lily. I fed her and Josh hung out with her in bed so I could go eat some cereal and get coffee going. The three of us hung out in bed until 8 and Lily and I left him alone to sleep. We came downstairs and got to our normal routine.

We also found out yesterday he didn't get an interview for the NPPD job. The HR lady he worked with in Norfolk said he "almost" did, though. WTH, lady? Almost? She told him to keep applying, though. Ok, so you're in a hiring freeze, and this job was a total shock in itself, but he's supposed to keep applying to the imaginary jobs out there? I guess I'm just bitter. lol

Josh said he is just biding his time. He keeps getting told that he is being wasted at this job. WTH? Who says that to a person? Yes, we are getting out of here ASAP.

I am CRAVING McDonalds! Raeg keeps mentioning it and I am just dying. The closest McD's is a good 20 miles, and I'm actually going to try to convince Josh to take me to Lincoln tonight so I can splurge a little.

Bittersweet

I normally hate that word, but yesterday was just that. We had an amazing day together! It was Josh's first day off in 31 days (and yes, he has worked 7 days a week for 31 days), and it felt so good to sleep in with him, drink coffee together, get ready for church, actually go to church, the list goes on.

We went to a very traditional church in town that I had expected to be a little more contemporary...very interesting. We were the youngest family in there by 10 years or so. lol But it was good to go to church, any church. We have figured out there really aren't any more contemporary churches here in town, so we are going to a town 10 miles away to one next week.

We came home and ate leftovers for lunch and put Lily down for a nap. She didn't want to go to sleep, so it took us a while to get her down, so we stayed downstairs so we wouldn't wake her up. Well, we were planning on having some lovin' during her nap, so we just did it down on the couch. It was probably the best we've had since Lily was born, and we still have sex quite a bit. It was just awesome.

We just hung out together all day and saw everyone else's FB updates about the deer they got. Josh and I were bummed we couldn't hunt this year, but we decided we'd rather spend the day together, since he hasn't had a day off in forever. My dad got a buck and two does, and has two more doe tags to fill, so you can bet we will be eating plenty of venison. I can't wait to make venison chili! Um, YUM!

Well, I guess that's all I know. Josh goes to nights tonight and we are trying to decide how to to adjust his sleep schedule so it doesn't really mess him up. His solution is coffee, and I guess we'll just have to see how that goes. lol Happy Monday!

I was hoping to get a blog written before the girl woke up...

but she just peeked under those long lashes at me and grinned. ::sigh:: I just turned into a puddle.Ok, get ready for a lot of randoms, because I really don't know much.

She is just chilling out, kicking and waving around, playing with a burp rag on the play mat. I made the cutest bow for her and she is absolutely adorable. Do you non-baby ladies get irritated that we just gush about our babies? lol

Anyway! Josh just called me and said he is moving to night shifts on Monday. I am so dreading it. I don't even know what to say except I'm dreading it. I said I would keep my mind open, but I don't know if I can. Ugh.

Mom told me yesterday, "I'm not going to say this around Dad, because he thinks you need to wait to have more kids, but I totally can't wait for you guys to have another one." Ha!

I think I may now be addicted to two things: fabric and now ribbon. I have made five new hair bows for Lily, and it is so easy, and now I can make a ribbon for whatever I want! I'm so excited. I will have to take pics...

So I no longer fit into my maternity jeans at all. So I only have one pair of pre-pregnancy jeans that fits well. :( My goal is to be in my Cruel Girls by Christmas, and I'm doing good, so we'll see.

Ok, the girl is needing entertainment.
