We got a new family member last week. My DH and I adopted a kitten. We agreed to get a cat back in January and were supposed to get one from one of his co- workers. We called Monday to see if we could look at her kittens and she said they were all sold. I was really mad and started to look for other places to get kittens. I found two places that looked promising and we got Max from the first place we went. When I held Max in my arms he started to purr like a motor boat. I instantly fell in love with him and so did DH.

It was so beautiful out today, even though it was 56. This weekend it's supposed to be 60, but in Ohio this time of year the weather changes by the second. I am so sick and tired of the snow and cold. Unfortunately, we usually have one snowfall in April. On a positive note spring is almost here.

My cousin is 19 and is about eight months pregnant. Yesterday I went to her baby shower, boy was I uncomfortable.
1. I felt like out of place with a bunch of teenagers.
2. I was one of the only people there who doesn't have a baby.
Almost all of the teenagers their had babies. It kind of upset me to see all these kids with babies. Most of them didn't seem grown up enough to take care of their children.
When I was a teenager all I wanted to do, was graduate high school and college, get married, then start a family. Am I the only one to want it that way?

There has been so much drama with my ILs these last few months. My FIL has a new lady friend. They wanted to go on vacation during his time off after Christmas. My eldest SIL threw a fit. She makes it clear that she doen't like the new woman in her dad's life. The woman is very nice and obviously loves my FIL. That's all that counts.
Last week my FIL had the family dog put down. We found out in November that she had cancer. After that she went steadily down hill. At the beginning of the month she got worse, we had to carry her outside to go to the bathroom. I really miss my four legged SIL. I know she is happy with my MIL getting her behind scratched.

I know my husband very well and I can see when something is wrong with him. This last weekend I knew something was wrong but, he wouldn't talk to me. It started on Saturday when he was decorating the IL's house. I had to work that night, so 3 I went to ask him what we were doing for supper. He snaps at me that he said he wasn't going to leave at all, now all of our food was frozen and we had just ate all the soup earlier in the week. I get upset and go down to the family room and be by myself. Three hours later they get the stuff they had to do done, and he comes down and apologizes for what he said.
The next two days these outbursts continue, by the third day I had had enough. After the third outburst he tries to apologize and I tell him his apology is not accepted. He gets upset and opens the bathroom door so I can leave and he can clean up.
When he gets out of the shower I standing in the bathroom, he finally breaks down and says that the last few days has reminded him of his mom. This whole week he has been an emotional wreck. We haven't fought since he opened up about his feelings, we just talk.

Last week was so crazy. My hubby and I live in my FIL's house with him and my SIL. We moved in after my MIL died to help take care of the house. My FIL works twelve hours a day and my SIL is handicapped. It was a madhouse last week because my FIL decided to remodel the bathroom. This was something my MIL had wanted to do when she was here. It was also done to make it easier for my SIL to move around.
The bathroom looks so nice. We have a nice big shower it is now the perfect size for two. The walls look 100% better, they used to be pepto pink. They are now a brownish yellow.
Imagine getting this done and preparing for thanksgiving. I'm not even getting into that. The short version is first holiday without my MIL. Christmas is going to be even better, it was her favorite holiday.

I have a brother, he is 13. My mom has suspected he needed glasses for a couple of months. Whenever the subject came up my brother would say he didn't want glasses, they would make him look like a dork. I am the only one in my family who doesn't wear glasses. Yesterday he went to the eye doctor and sure enough he needed glasses. When his glasses were ready he tried them on, he looked excited to wear them. As we were leaving the store he said the glasses made him look like my DH. He said he wants a hair cut and a baseball hat to really look like DH. My DH glows when my brother says things like that, I think its because he likes somebody looking up to him. I'm just glad they get along with each other.

Last night was game night with my ILs. We played games for 4 hours. This was the best time we had in months. It was the first time in months that we all were here. My SIL, nephew, and his fiancee have been working out of town on the weekends. After everybody went home my DH had a meltdown. While we were taking a break from the games everybody got dessert, my nephew's fiancee ate ice cream and then a pickle and I ate a pickle. My DH started to joke that his BIL and sister should be worried and they said something along similar lines about me. Then my BIL tried one of those things to tell me how many children I'm supposed to have. It got my DH curious, so he wanted to know what his said. Mine said one child and a miscarriage, his said 2 children and a miscarriage. My DH already has a son from a previous marriage. We are not planning to have children so it freaked him out. I spent the rest of the night calming him down. At least the night ended on a good note.
