Meet me, I'm Charlotte York meets Holly Madison meets Lucy Ricardo. I'm a paradox and a controversy in myself! I'm proud to be who I am...and I'm figuring that out as I go along!

2 years. I'm ready.

I know I might catch flak for this blog, but eh.

I’ve finally decided that I’m ready for my new ring. When Jason and I got engaged, I don’t know that I was entirely sure of the style that I liked. We picked out something that was fashionable and in style. We just celebrated our two year anniversary on Tuesday and during that time, I’ve done some ring shopping.

Oh, close your gaping mouth.

I’ve asked my husband repeatedly if this bothers him and his answer has always been that he just wants me to be happy with my ring. I flitted back and forth between vintage and modern style rings. I debated gem stones and diamonds, size and shape. I started thinking about what I liked and what I didn’t like. What made me, me. One thing that I have always held true to is my heritage. I am so furiously proud to be Irish. I love the romance and torture of my history. I love the traditions. Hell, our wedding was almost purely Celtic (I had to give a nod to the wee bit o’ Portuguese in me as well). I even have a clover tattooed on my foot!

So I’ve decided. The Claddagh. It’s a gorgeous ring with so many different traditions and a rich history behind it. “If worn on the right hand with the heart facing out it means you are single, facing in means you are dating someone. If worn on the left hand with the heart facing out it means you are engaged and facing in you are married.

As soon as the budget allows for it, we’ll make the jump. I’m totally smitten with the ring I’ve picked out. It’s different, it’s unique, and it’s truly something that’s me.

The Claddagh ring I've picked (below) has an Emerald center stone (my birth stone).

About McCoffee

Jason and I are two peas in a pod. April 2008 makes 3 years that we've been together. Some days it feels like we just met yesterday and others it seems like we've been together forever. I strive to be his trophey wife and he tries to keep up with me and my latest hobbies/obessesions. We love getting lost on roadtrips as much as we love Sunday morning lie-ins and doing absolutly nothing.
