Meet me, I'm Charlotte York meets Holly Madison meets Lucy Ricardo. I'm a paradox and a controversy in myself! I'm proud to be who I am...and I'm figuring that out as I go along!

March already...

Well, have officially completed my first week on the job. It’s been rather boring to tell you the truth; lots of training modules on computers. I’ve done a wee bit of actual work and that’s been really amazing. Next week I go to my course training for two days and then I’ll become official. My only gripe so far is one of the girls I work with; she’s been treating me like a minion which I really don’t appreciate. Today she actually told me, “Not to be a smart a$$” with her in this awfully $hitty tone. I couldn’t help it; I snapped back with, “You will not speak to me that way.” I’ve already filed a complaint on her (and apparently I’m not the only one.) C’est la vie; this isn’t my permanent office anyways.

I got an email the other day from a friend of mine reminding me what we were doing at this time last year: waiting for our husbands to return from Iraq! We were two Marine wives sharing this house while she desperately searched for theirs (it ended up being a house three doors down). They’ve since moved to Texas and I really miss her some days.

I found out I was approved to take leave to California for June and my dad’s fiftieth birthday. Jason can’t come because he’s got school. So this will be a very short trip (all of 4 days). But it will be good to see my friends and my family. Jason and I have decided that we’re going to request for a base out there the next time around (2009, but we wouldn’t move until March 2010); I want to be closer to my family for a little while longer before I go gallivanting around the world!

I'm so excited for the next couple of weeks. This weekend Jason and I are going to an organizational "yard sale." (One of the county's biggest organizations has it once a year.) We're hoping to find some chairs for the dining room table, a treadmill, and maybe a sofa table. Next weekend is the big St. Patrick's Day festival and I cannot WAIT!! When you're Irish this holiday is much more than just green beer!

About McCoffee

Jason and I are two peas in a pod. April 2008 makes 3 years that we've been together. Some days it feels like we just met yesterday and others it seems like we've been together forever. I strive to be his trophey wife and he tries to keep up with me and my latest hobbies/obessesions. We love getting lost on roadtrips as much as we love Sunday morning lie-ins and doing absolutly nothing.
