Welcome to my blog! Mike and I were married on July 22, 2006 in Erie, PA. Although we're not technically considered newlyweds anymore, we still feel like we are! We live in a house we rent from my MIL with our dog, a pap-a-poo mix, Louis (pronounced "Louie") who is our pride and joy. I'm finishing up school full time to get my BA in finance while working full-time in a financial aid office and Mike is currently a technician for a national aerospace corporation. While we lead fairly boring lives, I'll try to spice things up from time to time to make the blog more exciting to read :)

House Projects Complete

Posted Monday, June 02, 2008 11:45 AM

Well, mostly. Over the past two weekends DH and I have managed to complete the landscaping in front of the house (minus planting some new flowers), repaint the front porch as well as the railing, paint our master bedroom and our computer room, and start the landscaping in the backyard. I feel like we live in a brand new home! Everything looks SO much better. We still have quite a few projects to work on over the summer but it's been nice to cross these off of our to-do list. Have I mentioned I'm utterly exhausted?

My next two big projects consist of cleaning out the basement so that we can finally get our exercise room all set up and completing the landscaping in the backyard (this is going to be alot of work as there is literally nothing but grass out there). Hopefully, both of these things can be done by the end of June. *fingers crossed*

Wow that is a lot of work. I wish we could get motivated on our landscaping tasks...

and about your backyard...at least you have grass! Bri and I would kill for it. Due to the 40-something oaks we have, we have VERY LITTLE grass. (however our heating/cooling bills benefit from the trees, we haven't had a power bill over $90!)

but anyways...good luck with the landscaping!

Our landscaping has been such an ongoing project. We needed to build several retaining walls since our house is on a hill. And that is a daunting task. We have done 2 each year, and kind of buy plants as we go. Otherwise we would go broke! However, I find it fun, and it something to get us outside, we started a vegetable garden this year....its going well so far :)

I'm so bad with outdoor landscaping!  But I agree, little things make your house look so much better and newer!
