Welcome to my blog! Mike and I were married on July 22, 2006 in Erie, PA. Although we're not technically considered newlyweds anymore, we still feel like we are! We live in a house we rent from my MIL with our dog, a pap-a-poo mix, Louis (pronounced "Louie") who is our pride and joy. I'm finishing up school full time to get my BA in finance while working full-time in a financial aid office and Mike is currently a technician for a national aerospace corporation. While we lead fairly boring lives, I'll try to spice things up from time to time to make the blog more exciting to read :)

Already missing DH

Posted Thursday, June 12, 2008 8:32 AM

Mike is out of town on a four wheeling trip in West Virginia with his brothers until Sunday and yesturday was the first full day with him gone. I thought that I would really like having a quiet house to myself in order to get some homework done as well as cleaning (both of which are almost impossible to do with Mike home), but I'm missing him already! The house is almost too quiet. I hate being home alone at night so that's probably the hardest time for me. Thank goodness I have Louis (our dog) to keep me company!

re: Already missing DH

Brian goes to Augusta twice a year for work and the amount of time he's there varies each trip. Last time he was gone a MONTH. It was awful! We were new in our house so I was unsure of it, we had just gotten our second dog (like a few days before) so I had to put up with a whining new dog and a jealous old one and our commode broke. I hated it...so I know how you feel... I cried all night one night!

re: Already missing DH

I am glad that you have your dog with you.  I always do the most stupid things when I am home alone at night.  I watch horror movies.  It would have been nice to have a dog with me when I am sleeping in bed alone with the lights on because for some reason The Ring resonates with me more when I am sleeping alone.  I hope Sunday comes fast and "DON'T WATCH HORROR MOVIES" it is bad, very, very bad to do.

re: Already missing DH

I actually love when my husband goes out of town (and it's not often) because I do get so much accomplished.  I watch every movie I've been dying to see but don't watch because he can't stand that kind of movie.  I hope you don't miss him too badly and are able to enjoy the quiet free time.

re: Already missing DH

I have to agree with Edmo...I love my alone time.  I get the tv all to myself to watch my shows, I don't have to make big dinners, I can just do what I want to do.  Mark doesn't necessarily travel, but he does play hockey 2-3 times a week and his games are really late in the evening, usually around 10:00pm.  I have my two cats for protection.  I like having them in the same room as me, so if I hear a noise and they don't move....I don't have to worry about anything.  It's when the move and I don't hear anything that scares the crap out of me!

re: Already missing DH

I'm sorry your husband is gone... like other posters said, try to enjoy the alone time!  If it makes you feel better, my DH is gone for about 2 and a half months every summer... it gets very lonely, so I sympathize with you!  And I second the advice about not watching horror movies... ::shivers:: VERY bad idea!
