The Library

I love public libraries. My mom used to take my brother and I to the library when we were younger, but I'd kind of forgotten how great they are. I've always loved to read, and I can't even tell you how many books I've read over the course of my life so far. Once I hit jr. high or high school, we stopped going to the library, although my mom still bought quite a few books. When I went away to college (go Biola!), I definitely did NOT have time to read for pleasure. Then I got married, aka got poor, and had some time to read but no money for books. It took me a little while to realize, hey, libraries still exist! I got online, found the nearest branch, and headed out. I was thinking about this because I have a book due tomorrow - I haven't decided what to get next. Update tomorrow. :)

Books just make life better. They're my relaxation. It's one thing to sit and stare at the TV while being bombarded with noise and color. It's an entirely different thing to sit down with a cup of hot tea and a good book. I've been trying to work some quiet book time into my pre-bed routine at night. The last few nights I haven't done it, and I had a hard time getting to sleep. Tonight, I'm turning off the computer earlier, shutting off the TV, making some Sweet Dreams tea, and reading the next few chapters of Emma. Here goes!
