Chic organic pillows, curtains and upholstery

I am so taken with this new fabric company called Rubie Green. Everything is made of organic cotton and non-toxic dyes, and the patterns are more traditional than what you’d expect from a sustainable design operation (different from Mod Green Pod, which I also love, but which is more, well, mod).  But they’re traditional in a clean, happy, chic sort of way—nothing grandmotherly about them at all.  I recently ordered a couple of yards of the chevron stripe East Village design in “sailor,” a shade that’s somewhere between navy and cobalt, to make into some throw pillows. Buying the fabric through the website was super-easy, and while it’s not cheap, it is gorgeous and the price is well worth it I think if you are just looking for a pop of fun pattern for pillows or a headboard or a small chair.  Any of these fabrics would add a really fresh update to a room that’s in need of one, and nothing about them says crunchy/boho/eco (not that there would be anything wrong with it if they did, but you know what I mean!)
