MBT shoes: Step on it!

Posted Thursday, January 10, 2008 6:59 PM

Last summer my friend was visiting from LA and waltzed into my NYC apartment in the most hideous shoes. Seriously, my initial response was "those shoes are making my cute apartment a little too ugly... take them off!!"

We laughed about their rather moon-shoe-like appearance for awhile, but then she told me that they are these incredible walking shoes called MBT's. They are said to tone your butt and legs, increase energy and circulation, and improve posture simply by wearing them (now that's a workout plan I can subscribe to)!

Needless to say, she completely convinced me to buy a pair, in fact the exact same style she was wearing that day.

It's only day two and I've already noticed some definite posture improvement.

Does anyone else have these?!

What changes (if any) have you noticed?

PS. I wanted an extra challenge so I got the "Sport High" style (above left), but there are some really cute walking styles too. Check out BlissWorld.com

I've actually noticed a definite improvement in your posture around the office! I might have to look into getting myself a pair...

re: MBT shoes: Step on it!

My husband got a pair because he works all day standing on cement floors.  They have really helped is knees and back.

re: MBT shoes: Step on it! -- CHUNG SHI'S are the way to GO

MBT's are good but there is a new rocker sole shoe, called Chung Shi's. My husband got me a pair and I have seen great results in the toning of my legs, and stomach. They are more aggressive then the MBT's because they work the muscles more. I got mine at www.shoesandorthotics.com. I have both but I prefer the Chung Shi's!

re: MBT shoes: Step on it!

I have the MBT M. Walk shoes and absolutely love them! They took a little while to get used to, as I felt like I had a bad version of a Spice Girl athletic shoe on, but I use them while I walk/run on my treadmill and have definitely noticied a difference in posture and toning. Good luck with yours!
