Our school levy passed

This is great news (kind of). I have said DH and I want to sell our house but we have repairs to complete before we can put it on the market. We also had to wait for the school levy to pass b/c our school district cut all sports. Now it did and sports are back. WooHoo! Our school district is known for football and with that back when we are ready it is a huge selling point.

Last night DH and I ran to wal-mart to pick up a few things that ran out, worked out, ate dinner, had some lovin and went to bed. It was perfect. I swear I take a little something from all of you here. We didn't turn the tv on till dinner was ready. I worked out so I won't be a slack since many here are getting it done (why couldn't I).

Report cards came out and that caused a little drama..... Jada got straight A's. That is so exciting and we like to reward her for her hard work. The problem was she text her report card then the $70.00 boots we were going to buy her for doing a good job. Hold on there little one. Talk about spoiled and expecting something. She said we owed her them b/c of her grades. Guess who didn't get any boots. Good grades are expected(A's and B's). Anything less and you are in trouble. A reward is a bonus and not something you are intitled to. I hope she learned the lesson on that one. I am sure she will get the boots for Christmas but she can sweat it out till then. How do you get straight A's and get yourself in trouble.

Makayla had all A's and B's so she was in the free and clear. AJJ and Aailyah both had C's (almost D's) and are grounded. Not only for the fact that they were missing assignments that they were told to turn in but b/c of there mouth when we talked about it. I couldn't believe it. The will have a boring week and hopefully it will turn there attitude around. They are trying to act a bit too grown and it's not going to fly around here.

Tomorrow I am taking a personal day to shop with my mom for my birthday. We are starting at breakfast at my favorite spot downtown then it's off to the stores. I have to drop the car off for an oil change first b/c I still haven't done that yet. It should be lots of fun and I hope the sun is out like it is today. Since it is my Friday at work everyone is driving me crazy asking questions and wanting stuff done before I leave. It is a hectic day at work. Tonight I plan on working out again and sticking to it.

Man I went on and on. I will check in with you on Monday! Have a great weekend ladiesCool

re: Our school levy passed

I remember all my friends talking about "passing presents" in elementary and high school.  I never got them because doing well (or at least being able to prove that I gave 110% effort) was simply the expectation.  I got verbal praise and a pat on the head and then I was sent away to study some more! :)

re: Our school levy passed

Good thing it passed.  Hard to sell a house to a potential family if sports aren't in the school program.  That's so dumb, sports provide so many good things - how can they take that away?

As for their grades, that's going to be really hard for me.  I cannot have a child who doesn't try or who just doesn't turn things in.  I'd go crazy!  I did really well in school and I don't want to have the burden of learning how to appeal to a child to get them to study or do homework.  At least you're sticking to your guns!  I am going to need so much advice in this department in a few years!

I'm with you Ashley and Nikki - good grades were expected.  I would get some rewards but overall, nothing less than As and Bs.
