Things you hear

Why do I pay any attention to it?!?!?!

My workout/diet is going great and I figured out it's b/c I haven't listen to all the goofy stuff I used to and just did what worked for me. A lot of the things in my head I put there about what was right/wrong. This open mind has made me much more productive.

1. I have worked out for 6 days in a row. Nothing crazy but 20-30 devoted to working out every day. I used to think I needed a day of "rest" but I think that is how I always end up quiting. I am not doing anything difficult enough to require a day off of working out.

2. I workout after work while dinner is thawing. I thought in the am was the time to do it but after getting up early for a few days I am tired. My usual get up is already 5:30am. What do I need to get up earlier for! Stupid!

3. My "diet" is improving on it's own and very fleible. Before I would go on a diet when I started working out. This lead to a lot of cheating and in the end I would give up. This time I didn't make any changes to my eating habits but it's amazing that I want less and better food automatically. I wish I figured this out years ago.

4. No schedule for me. In the past I would say pilate on Monday yoga on Wednesday jog on Friday thinking that way I wouldn't get bored but I would have a schedule to follow. What a flop!!! Now I choose my workout about 5 minutes before I do it depending on what I feel like.

I am glad I have found (looking out of the box I put myself in) a way to make this workout/diet thing work for once and hope I stick to it. I am already starting to feel better. Hopefully the scale will start to show the work soon.

Since this is really long already a quick weekend wrap up.

Friday (personal day from work) went shopping with mom for my birthday. I got some bras (really needed) and black boots! DH and I stayed home Friday night for movies and lovin.

Saturday to the track and didn't win a thing. Oh well! Saturday night saw our friend R's new house and then played poker with the old crew. It was the first time I have seen Bob since his mom passed away a month ago and it was good to see him out. We won at poker and got back all the money we lost at the track.

Sunday we shopped and walked all day. It was wonderful weather in Ohio and we enjoyed as much as possible before the bitter cold gets here. We ended up with a couple Christmas gifts to put away for the kids so I was happy with that.

Have a great week allBig Smile

Our school levy passed

Posted Thursday, November 05, 2009 11:27 AM

This is great news (kind of). I have said DH and I want to sell our house but we have repairs to complete before we can put it on the market. We also had to wait for the school levy to pass b/c our school district cut all sports. Now it did and sports are back. WooHoo! Our school district is known for football and with that back when we are ready it is a huge selling point.

Last night DH and I ran to wal-mart to pick up a few things that ran out, worked out, ate dinner, had some lovin and went to bed. It was perfect. I swear I take a little something from all of you here. We didn't turn the tv on till dinner was ready. I worked out so I won't be a slack since many here are getting it done (why couldn't I).

Report cards came out and that caused a little drama..... Jada got straight A's. That is so exciting and we like to reward her for her hard work. The problem was she text her report card then the $70.00 boots we were going to buy her for doing a good job. Hold on there little one. Talk about spoiled and expecting something. She said we owed her them b/c of her grades. Guess who didn't get any boots. Good grades are expected(A's and B's). Anything less and you are in trouble. A reward is a bonus and not something you are intitled to. I hope she learned the lesson on that one. I am sure she will get the boots for Christmas but she can sweat it out till then. How do you get straight A's and get yourself in trouble.

Makayla had all A's and B's so she was in the free and clear. AJJ and Aailyah both had C's (almost D's) and are grounded. Not only for the fact that they were missing assignments that they were told to turn in but b/c of there mouth when we talked about it. I couldn't believe it. The will have a boring week and hopefully it will turn there attitude around. They are trying to act a bit too grown and it's not going to fly around here.

Tomorrow I am taking a personal day to shop with my mom for my birthday. We are starting at breakfast at my favorite spot downtown then it's off to the stores. I have to drop the car off for an oil change first b/c I still haven't done that yet. It should be lots of fun and I hope the sun is out like it is today. Since it is my Friday at work everyone is driving me crazy asking questions and wanting stuff done before I leave. It is a hectic day at work. Tonight I plan on working out again and sticking to it.

Man I went on and on. I will check in with you on Monday! Have a great weekend ladiesCool

Part time jobs

Posted Wednesday, November 04, 2009 10:01 AM

DH and I have been applying for them right and left for the holiday season. Any place (pretty close to home) that hires seasonal workers we have submitted our apps but the phone has yet to ring once. At first I only want to work weekday evenings and Sunday but then I opened it up to Saturday also. I really didn't want to but I thought that might be the hold up. I know there are people without a job at all and I should be glad I have one but we really need to extra income with Christmas right around the corner.

Also we have tried really hard to only have one car payment at a time. We owe $4500.00 on the current car loan. I really want to pay it off so we can replace our older car. It is not running very well and I am scared that we will be in the major repair time if we wait much longer. This extra income would help that a lot. Once that was paid off I plan on buying a cheaper car this time and the payment being smaller. That way any extra can go to our debit that we are trying to pay off without a ton of success. We have manager not to accrue any new debit in a year or so but I want it gone. It's $23,000.00 in student loans (DH) and credit cards (both).

Oh well I hope we get a bite some place. Everyone else that is looking for full/part time work best wishes to you. Maybe I am old school but it's tough when everything is online and then you just never hear anything.

Yard work

Posted Monday, November 02, 2009 2:01 PM

Friday was just a hang out at the house night with the kids. We did stop at DQ and got pumpkin pie blizzards. It was great!

Saturday I was motivated. The kids are outside racking leaves so they could jump in them and I got most of the outside ready for winter. I was so proud of myself. I am not a big fan of yard work but I got it all done! Dh was sitting on the couch watching football which was kind of on my nerves but oh well. We don't have to do house work at the same time or anything but for like 3 weeks he has been super lazy about things for the house outside of the normal day to day. So I took a break to jump in the leaves with the kids and jump on the trampoline. It was a lot of fun. That evening was the second T or T which was okay. We had our friends kids and they just don't move very fast so we didn't hit as many houses as usual.

Sunday was just cleaning/laundry. Boooo! We did go out for wings for dinner which were great. There are still 6 sitting in the fridge waiting for me to get home and eat them. I wanted to bit of lovin last night but fell asleep on the couch during desperate housewives. Isn't that terrible!!!! Well tonight DH better watch out.

I am off to the chiro in an hour and can't wait. It's been too long. Have a great Monday all. Let's see if I will be productive again tonight?!?!?! I have to get an oil change tomorrow and here's hoping that I don't put that off any longer.

Just got some new boots

Posted Friday, October 30, 2009 12:07 PM

at Payless. There is a printable 50% off coupon on Oprah.com. They are a super cute brown pair. I really needed black but couldn't find any I liked. I might have to go to a different Payless tonight since the coupon is only good today. I also bought every pair of tall funky socks they had. Aaliyah and Jada are really into the tall crazy socks so they will be put away for stocking stuffers.

Last nights trick or treat went great and the kids are going again Saturday by our house. It should be fun. I think we are going skating on Sunday since the weather won't be great and we don't have anything we "have" to do. I just can't wait to get out of here and go relax for a little bit. I almost asked for a half a day but it's the end of the month and a busy time so I sided against it. It's sad by my arms are soar from carrying little Jalen back last night since his legs were killing him from running for the first hour and a half of T or T. He is 5 but only the size of a 3 year old so that is a lot of steps for his tiny legs.

Have a happy and safe Halloween ladies!

All is well again!

Posted Thursday, October 29, 2009 8:26 AM

Nothing else crazy happened for the rest of the day so once I left work DH and I were able to do all the things on the to do list and stopped at wal-mart to pick up a few things. I was so glad b/c usually I put at least one thing off to the next day.

Now I am waiting for our insurance meeting to start. Hopefully I don't have to change much. That is always a pain in the neck! I have to run around a bit for work today so that always makes the day go faster. I am meeting with an old coworker for lunch today that I haven't seen in monthes. He is a flight attendant now. If you are assuming anything from this statement you are correct. We often tease him that he is a living stereo type. It should be lots of fun at my favorite Mexican spot. Good food and good friends - nothing is better.

Tonight is trick or treat so we will battle the HORRIBLE traffic tonight to walk wiht the kids (3 of the 4 Aaliyah is over it). It's always a good time and I can steal a piece of candy or two from them. I will walk fast pace so it can be my workout. Two for one - I love it!

Now it's time for the meeting. TTYL!

Weird kid day

Posted Wednesday, October 28, 2009 2:00 PM

Tons of days go by without any of the kids being sick or in trouble or anything out of the ordinary then there is a day like today.

It starts at 8:00am with Aaliyah's dentist appointment. Her mom took her and they are calling me right away. I carry all the kids medical, dental, and vision so from time to time they need to call. While Aaliyah's mom was married (earlier this year) her H also carried dental which was the primary due to our birthdays. Well they no longer have the other insurance and mine is now the primary and they have the billing all messed up. That was 45 minutes and it is still not resolved. I should hear from them tomorrow.

Then AJJ's basketball sign up is due on 10/30 so I had to print and complete so we can mail it in without a late fee. We were going to change the place but after my research it just didn't make sense. So now we are down to the last minute (after 10/30 it's $25.00 more). I have to drop it off at the church tonight so I know they got it in time.

Jada had her parents come to lunch today and her mom couldn't go and "forgot" to call us. Last she told us she was going so Jada is sad nobody showed up and I feel bad now. My goodness she has two real parents and two step parents and none of us made it. I am mad at her mom about this one.

Aaliyah was being picked on by a bully today. She was scared and wanted to ride the bus home so she didn't have to wait outside to be picked up. She has to stand up for herself (not fight) so these girls will quit picking on her. She was calling from her cell secretly in the girls bathroom so I only got a bit of the story. I will know more soon. She is going to hang out by the teachers till her mom is there so the girls won't get carried away. OMG not already!!!!

Makayla is the only one drama free so far and hopefully that stays the same.

So tonight we are finally (we put it off) getting the last of SIL's stuff to move to her new house. Then dropping off AJJ's basketball form/money. Also stopping to give Aaliyah her contact solution and a crash course in contact care by DH. I know it's not a lot compaired to most people but I swear if my phone rings one more time with something goofy I might scream. I have half a idea to go pick Makayla up from school now just to make sure nothing happens to her also. AHGGGG!

Our last cookout

Posted Tuesday, October 27, 2009 11:53 AM

Today is the last time we will light the grill this year. We only use charcoal b/c DH hates propane so it takes longer then propane. We are making poppers, chicken, and I think hambergers for tomorrow. I can't wait. It is probably the last decent day to do it since it is dry (for now) and in the mid 60s. I love food from the grill so I have been thinking about it all dayYes

Aaliyah ordered some green (non perscription) contacts and they came in yesterday. I am undesided how I feel about it. I wish she loved her brown eyes just the way they are but she thinks they are plain. I kind of understand. DH and I (both brown eyes) haven't set the best example b/c we both have used colored contacts (perscription) in the past. It's not a huge deal but at almost 14 years old I hope this doesn't lead to wanting to change other things about her looks. We are big on helping the kids love who and what they are without changes but on the other hand I don't want to make a big deal about this so she will want it even more. When she ordered them (with permission) I didn't think that much about it but as time goes on it is bugging me. We still have a few days till she can wear them since she already got them taken away for not turning in make up work at school. We aren't going to take them away but I am secretly hoping she doesn't like them. Is that bad? Would you let your 13.8 year old wear them if they wanted to?
