My Wedding Week Check-In

Whew! This was one crazy week-end. I flew to Sacramento on Saturday and my bridal party (MOH, BM, step-mom) and I headed up to my venue for a free night at the bar and sleep-over. We had a total blast. We took a million pics to get ideas for decorating (since I can't exactly pop in whenever I have a question), got a copy of the contract to read and sign later, got totally liquored up and spent the whole night playing games in the game room. If this night was any indication of how my wedding will go, I know it will be fabulous and exactly what I want. My step-mom beat our butts in beer pong. Everyone oohed and aahed over the venue, especially the bridal dressing room. My step-mom even said "OMG, can I get dressed here too?" I got tipsy and started practicing my walk down the stairs, singing my processional song. I can't wait to get married there.
I made my bridal party official by handing out homemade cards and everyone got sappy. It was sweet. My sister and my best friend of 7 years are so super supportive and totally on my page.
The next morning, we got up bright and early for a Bridal Show. It totally sucked. There were a million girls there, all fighting their way through the vendors. I was tired, hung-over, and sick of carrying all my free junk. I did get a lot of vendor cards, which I can't wait to check out. There's only so much research you can do with google.
The next day we were supposed to look at BM dresses, but my girls weren't too keen on that. They pointed out (very nicely) that we were a year away and they just weren't ready yet. I totally understand. I might just give them a swatch of material to match, and let them pick their own. They don't want to wear matching. It's because of my sister (MOH). My sister is a real-life Barbie doll, with perfect skin, hair, smile, body, tan...everything. She's gorgeous and my BM is a little intimidated to wear the same dress as her. I would be too, because she really is a Barbie. And I like the idea of different dresses, especially since I only have two girls. It would be like trying to dress Paris Hilton and Gwen Stefani in the same dress...just too weird.
So instead of dress shopping, we got matching tattoos. It's a stem of forget-me-nots curving along our shoulder blades. My BF's mother loved forget-me-nots and it's Alaska's state flower (I used to live there and love everything Alaskan) and it will be incorporated into our bouquets, so we now have offical wedding tatts. Fun. I was on the table for over an hour, and my shoulder is so sore.
Now I'm at my mother's house, and we have our own wedding planning to get to tomorrow. I can't wait! More check-ins later!
