Ugh. Favors are not my favorite right now.

Today, we went in search of favor making supplies. My plan is to make beaded snowflake ornaments. Sounds easy, looks impossible. I got a little sample kit at Michaels this past Xmas, to get an idea of what I would need and what I like. Well, I should have picked up 40 kits, because now it's a golden ticket hunt. My mom and I spent the day driving to different cities (the disadvantage of living in the country) and checking out bead stores, craft stores, and talking to various bead-obsessed women.
All told me they were sold out of what I wanted. One told me the plastic beads look cheap and I should use Savarski (sp?) crystals (yeah, so NOT in the budget), a few looked like they had no idea what I was talking about, and most said they had all the supplies last month, when everyone and their grandmother was beading snowflake ornaments.
Ugh.
So we decide to go straight to the manufacturer. They say they can only sell to a vendor with a Resale License. So we hunt down a resale license number, only to be told that the company only makes them for Michaels and are under contract to not sell them anywhere else. If they even had any to sell.
Ugh.
So I turn to the internet. I find the Wire Form I'm looking for, for about half the retail price, and the site is not working. So I have to call them in the morning to see if I can even order the Wire Form.
So now we are back at Square 1. A great idea and absolutley no idea how to execute it. Tomorrow we start all over again. I'm so glad I'm doing this with my mom. I would have given up ages ago. But my mom can pull miracles (c'mon, who can get a Resale License on request?!) out of a dump.
Another downer: We looked at MOB dresses today and found nothing that even fit my mom. That will be a search in itself. She's quite busty, with a small waist (think inverted pear shape), so we couldn't even figure out her SIZE. Ugh.
Postive note: I did buy two wedding books today at my favorite used bookstore (think piles of rare books, rickety building, long windows, and lounging cats). One is a planning book that's been slightly used, so I'll have to salvage it with White-out. The other is a how-to on vow writing. Both were super cheap.
And I watched Wedding Daze, which looked stupid and started a bit stupid, but turned out totally cute at the end. My mind is so cramed with wedding planning right now. I'm looking forward to our annual Bday camping trip this week-end, where I can chill on the beach with my FI and BF and do absolutley nothing!
Aah...
