Funny things...

Had a wedding nightmare last night.  I think it had something to do with going to sleep mad at my fiance.  At first, everything was going perfect.  Everyone showed up, the venue was doing great serving lobster and chicken and filet mignon, and they even reserved a DJ for me!  Which was a good thing, because I had forgotten to do it.  I also forgot to put the OOT gift bags in the hotel rooms.  Anyway, after dinner I went to tell the DJ to pick up the tempo so people can start dancing, when I notice his really long nose.  He turns around and on the back of his head is...another face!!  Same as the front face, really long nose.  At that moment (in my dream) I black out.  I come to the next morning, still on the DJ stage, to find everything completley frozen (think Narnia frozen, evil ice witch  castle-frozen) and all my wedding guests have been gruesomly murdered.

Weird, huh?  It might have something to do with my nicotine patch.  I cut my patch in half today to lessen the side effects.

Okay, funny #2.  This is funny in a "ha-ha" way.  Not funny in a "Jen is on strange meds" way.

I've been slowly working on our favors.  I know, we have eleven months still, but I'm really excited to do these.  I want beaded snowflake Xmas tree ornaments tied with personalized ribbon (with our name and date).  I really want to make them myself, too.  I ordered these from Oriental Trading Co:

Cute, huh?  Well, I found it a bit difficult when I actually tried to put everything together.  This is my finished project:

LOL. It looks like a deformed, sad mosquito!  I swear, I have Martha Stewart ambitions with Mr Bean tendencies!  I'm such spaz.  So, luckily I got these really cheap and only ordered 12 for $2.50 total, so it's not a total wash.  I ordered some different kits from Craft America, which look to be easier.

Back to the drawing board!

Hmmm interesting! It looks like they need more reinforcement. Is it possible to double up on the wires (or use a thicker one) to give them more of a "back bone"? I bet you can still do them, maybe it'll be better for you to copy the design but buy your own (stronger) materials instead.

Cute idea though!

LOL, I feel your pain...but that is hilarious.  I'm certainly no Martha Stewart myself.  I have recruited an expert to make my pew bows b/c I just can't get them done right. =)

Oh my!  Somehow I know you will find your inner Martha and find a way to make it work! I believe in you!

Good luck. My patience would be gone already.

re: Funny things...

Gosh, I used to have wedding nightmares ALL the time. But mine were on a much smaller gruesome scale, usually not being able to get ready on time or something along those lines. They were consistent when we first got engaged, tapered off, and then came back when the wedding was about a month away.
