11 Month Check-In

Today is our official eleven month negative anniversary. LOL. That means, in exactly 11 months, we will be getting married.
I feel like this month so far, I haven't gotten anything done. Knowing me, I'll be racing to complete my February goals in the last few days of the month.
I checked out a photographer friend of my moms. Her pictures were not artistic enough for my taste. Then, my FMIL told me of a friend of a friend who might do it cheap. Their website didn't have any wedding photos, so I'm kinda scared to call them. But FMIL said she would pay, and that these people can spend the whole night and take pictures of our slumber party. Not that I really want them to. I have a million pictures of our drunken friends doing stupid things. I want pictures of our wedding. So I contacted an old high school friend of mine who I found again on Myspace. He's done a few weddings, and I know him (or used to, anyway), so he might give me a deal. Still waiting for him to put together a sample and a price quote.
What I really want is a photojournalist approach. I don't really like the formal shots of all the girls on the right, boys on the left kind of thing. I want pictures of my mom putting my veil on, of my sister strapping my shoes on, of my best friend spilling champange on her dress. I also want me and Matt to drive down to the ceremony site (that we won't be using, because it's too hard to get to in the snow) and take pictures. The view is fantastic. Hopefully, we can just play and the photographer can snap away. I did find a cheap photojournalist from the Wedding Photojournalist Association who I really like. Unfortunatley, cheap means $1800 (for basic package), which is still out of budget. So, we'll see. I still got options.
No headway on the DJ. I'm lazy, I know.
Still waiting for STD's from Vistaprint. Is eleven months too early to send STD's? I think I might wait another month. We'll see. I found a great wedding blog: http://roadtotheaisle.blogspot.com/ The blogger has a ton of DIY projects, and I think I may try my hand at the aisle runner. Which means we need a monogram. Something fun to play with.
Okay, this is what happens when I decide I should write a blog just because it's a special marker date. I know. I ramble.
On a completley unrelated note: I'm going to the bar tonight for the first time since I quit smoking! In Las Vegas, it's okay to smoke in bars, so I'll be around tons of smokers, and I'll have alcohol in my system, which is my biggest obstacle in quitting. This situation gets me every time. I will be strong. I will survive. Wish me luck!
