A Productive Month!

March was a great month for wedding projects. Let's revisit my goals:
1. Find a photographer. Found and contacted, but needs to be booked. I was looking over her blog the other day when I realized she just shot a wedding at my venue. I asked to see her whole photofile, and she gave me the code. I was so impressed, and can't wait to begin working with her! This month I'll sign the contract and send in the deposit!
2. Write Ceremony. Written! Just needs to be re-read, cut, and edited. I'm giving myself the whole month to polish it to perfection!
3. Find a high-yeild savings account. Almost done. The bank was having technical difficulties the day we tried to open an account, and they never called us back, so we'll try again tomorrow.
4. Make a monogram. Done! Knottie Mrs Melton designed our monogram for us. They are fantastic and at $5 total, a great budget-saver!
I also snuck a few bonus projects in this month.

I glued snowflakes to all of my Thank You cards. I know, I'm way ahead on this project, but it's done! You can barely see, but there's light silver script on the fron that says "thank you." Very simple, yet elegant.

These are some rhinestone snowflakes I got from Oriental Trading Co. I got 12 of these in different designs for $2.50. Cute, but a pain to put together. My Krazy Glue didn't work for the intended project, so I pulled these out and got started instead. I had Krazy Glue stuck on my fingers for two days afterward!

And finally, my favorite project of all! I monogrammed our aisle runner with our new monogram! I think it turned out fabulous! About 8 hours total time, but it was well worth it! I paid $20 for the runner at Joanne's with a coupon, $5 for an enlarged monogram from Kinko's, and $1 for paints (which I still have plenty, for other projects!). There's wax paper still underneath, because it's drying (I just finished it, LOL!). It was easier than I thought, and pretty darn idiot-proof, so it's given me a big boost of DIY confidence after that horrid STD catasrophe! I followed the directions from Knottie's heatherkj's blog: The Road to the Aisle.
So, hard at work this month, and getting things done! Tomorrow I'll update with my April goals, and we'll start this all over again!
