When I first started thinking about my wedding, I knew I wanted orange in there somewhere. But I didn't want it to overwhelm the theme, which is based on my mom's wedding dress.
So at first, I thought, purple and orange could complement each other. I know, you can't see it. I also really wanted Gerbera Daisies because Dee used to give them to me while we were in school..sometimes for no reason at all. You can see these colors in action in the movie "Rumor Has It" with Jennifer Aniston. I never saw the movie, but I caught a glimpse of it when it was playing on tv.

Not bad right? But for some reason, I wasn't super in love with. I liked it, and probably could have lived with it, but I was sort of without any other wedding ideas.
So then I was looking around the Martha Stewart (MS) website and looked under themes, and there it was...a theme using eyelet lace! It was perfect for our wedding, and it really got the wheels turning up there. Now, in MS's eyelet theme, Martha used a light/pale green. I loved it! But I still wanted my orange! Well, this girl is gonna have both!!

Martha is a genius! Green is also Dee's favorite color! I am so excited that this theme can include both of us!
How to add the orange?? Well...I've decided that we'll probably use a light orange to accent the green...as in use it in flowers. Here is one bouquet I'm using for inspiration (from real knot wedding Bridget & Patrick in Lakeway, TX): The roses used were Vendela Roses, which are really a cream color, but they look like light orange here.
So sage green (allowing for other shades of green) is our main color with light accenting of orange. From my bio:
white, sage green, light sage green, & light orange accenting.
navy (FI), brown & khaki (groomsmen) for the guys' attire

My bridesmaids will be wearing dresses in sage.
The second line of colors is what I had in mind for the guys' attire. Hopefully, it won't look too out of theme.
I grabbed these colors from www.colourlovers.com: a wonderful website whose members create colors and palettes and patterns!
If you still need help deciding colors, I encourage you to check out the site. You'd never think to see some colors complement each other so well until seeing some of these color palettes.
Hope this can help someone out!
