Yes, yes, I know...it's too early. And even though I expressed that I now felt it okay to let people know that we are planning...at least my girls understood all my excitement just cannot be bottled up. So oh well!
Dee and I were heading up to northern California to visit some friends in November 2007. Siri, Inc. is a San Francisco based boutique specializing in custom special occasion gowns. They sell some of their gowns here in So Cal, but not all of them and not the ones I was interested in. I thought "why not swing by just to check it out..." My best friend was already in SF (her boyfriend lives there) and so was another bridesmaid (attending school in Nor Cal). So I told one to meet me there and the other to pick me up from the airport so we can go together.
By the way, I have 5 bridesmaids: Joyce (sister and MOH), Tessa and Melinda A. (cousins), and Mary and Melinda C. (BFFs).
Siri, Inc. is located in a somewhat industrial looking street, and the boutique was well hidden, but we found it, and we had a blast looking at all the dresses!
I already had an idea of what I wanted because I already have my wedding gown. Since my gown has a pleated skirt, I wanted the bridesmaids' gowns to have contrast and have a pleated top and plain skirt. There were 3 styles Siri had that matched what I had in mind: Harvard, Princeton, and Yale.
Harvard:

Princeton:(tea length)
Yale:

side by side: Yale (on Mel), Harvard (on me), & Princeton (on Mary)

Yea, I got in on that action...only because my girls insisted! The dresses we tried on are sample dresses, so they are just a tad over huge on us. We look like munchkins. hehe!
The greens we were trying to choose from:

Sage (Georgette), Leaf (Sheer Organza), and Jade (Paper Organza): using flash and store lighting

Jade, Leaf, and Sage (they switched sides, and we're using natural light now)
Was torn between Jade and Sage:

But I think I'm gonna go with Sage (right) because Jade is being discontinued, but it's okay cuz I liked Sage more anyway.
And the dress: most of my girls really liked the Harvard. I thought it was adorable, but I didn't think they'd like it all that much...to my surprise they did, and I'm pretty sure that's what it's going to be! The belt will also be sage green.

Me again...trying to fit into the dress. It was so big! So cute though!

Or make an appointment to check out the boutique if you're in the area. Lesley was the girl who helped us while we were there, and she made the experience very pleasant and fun!
