Take nothing for granted...

I've been in touch with some local brides in my area to get a discount on boudoir photography. These ladies are lovely, and it's been a pleasure planning and getting together to do this.

Some very unfortunate news though which made my heart ache: One of our bride's fiance was in a fatal car crash this past Sunday; he passed away on Monday. She sent us an email telling us she would no longer join us...furthermore, she told us to give our fiances a hug and to not sweat the small stuff.

Please keep her in your prayers, and tell all your loved ones how much you love them. And remember that life can throw anything at you...some fortunate, and some, not so fortunate.

From my friend in an email:

Thank you all for the kind words and the love and support during this difficult time.  I'm thankful for having been enveloped by everyone so kind and wonderful such as yourselves.  I can never forget our single meeting and the emails these past couple months.  I am doing well thank to the love of so many friends and family who haven't let me out of their sight.  I can't say I'm not heart broken still or that I still don't think of Jaime and wonder about our future. It hurts pretty bad when I think of all the possibilities that our wedding would've brought.

To let you know a little bit about my dearest fiance, he was a modern day prince charming.  From the moment we met, he touched my heart in so many ways since then.  He is an engineer working solely for his wonderful boss that became just like an older brother to him.  He was a hard worker and always really responsible and loved his family to death.  He takes such good care of his family and since then took great care of mine too.  For my birthdays, he gave my mother a gift also to thank her for bringing me into this world, these kind of sweet things are only a few wonderful ways he's touched my life.  Just to let you know just how special he was, he was surrounded by over 100 people in the hospital during his final days.

We found out what happened on his way to visit his mother.  He was driving up the mountain to give his brother the SAT book he bought him to help him prepare for his test.  On his way, the Frontier driving on the other side of the highway swerved into his lane causing his car to total.  He became trapped by his dash board and suffered a great deal of injuries that the doctors could not help save his life.  The other drive walked away from the collision because his car was much bigger than Jaime's Accord and he was coming down the slope.  I hate knowing that I was not able to be there for him to ease the pain he suffered from the collision.  It was a tragic accident and both our families and I are doing everything we can possibly do to get through this difficult time.

Thank you for sending us your prayers.

My friend, if you're reading this, I am truly sorry for your loss. I keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I hope our paths cross again under better circumstances.

re: Take nothing for granted...

I was shedding tears reading this message.  The man was truly an angel and now has taken his rightful place with the rest of them.  Her family and herself will also be in my thoughts this night.
