lots of new wives are doing a boudoir shoot for their first anniversary. Thats what i plan to do, since the first year is "paper" year. sound PERFECT :)

I think for our first anniversary i am going to write ILOVE YOU on post it notes and stick them all over his car.  Then, I am going to write 365(symbolizing1year) reasons why i love him on cardstock and put them every where in the house.

My husband got me a gift that involved paper - one of the traditional symbols of a first wedding anniversary. It was so sweet because he gave me a gift certificate to a high-end stationary shop and said, "Now you can have all you need to complete the wedding scrapbook." I loved the gift and gave him props for creativity!

a baby :) we brought home our daughter on our 1st anniversary. i was 2.5 weeks early, so we didn't get a chance to do gifts or cards or anything. we had lobsters and our special champagne that we served at our wedding.

I will make reservation at the hotel we planned on staying for our honeymoon. We ended up going someother place, so i am sure that he will be very happy about it. We will go to mass together and thank go for each other.

I have this idea to blow up a picture that I took of a path in the Redwood forest from when we lived in NorCal last year. I'd purchase a wide mat as a border & I would write a poem on it that my husband wrote when we first discovered that we loved each other. It's about the uncharted path being soft and natural and our awareness inspiring us to climb a tree (we fell in love in a tree ♥). I'm still vacillating on the idea, but I think I may do it. Any thoughts?

I am going to get together with one of my girlfriends and we are going to take sexy pics and make calendars for our husbands. You can do it all online... so you don't have to be embarrassed about anyone at the store seeing your pictures! Some ideas we had were sexy nighties, wearing just an apron in the kitchen, your guys fav. sports jersey, tool belt with short shorts and a white tank, baseball hat, swimsuit, etc. It's a lot of fun!

I gave my husband three pictures of the two of us from our engagement sitting.  They were black and white and I had them in a frame together with our wedding date engraved on the front.  He has it on his desk at work!

We like to travel, so our first anniversary gift to each other will be a short vacation (since we will be moving about 2 months later).  It will involve golf, dining, spa, amusement parks, and sports, several loves that we've shared and bonded over. We're so looking forward to it.  When we have bad days at work, we just think about the next trip we have scheduled! It's amazing what just 3 or 4 days away can do for your outlook.

I'm about to have my 1 year anniversary in october, but im pretty young so it's hard to keep it exciting. and my husband isn't the emotional type at all so all of your wonderful ideas about pictures and things like that would not be appreciated at all by him. And we always go to games so tickets wouldn't be a good gift. I'm thinking about going skydiving. What do yall think?

I think the boudoir (sexy pic) shot would be a great idea.   I'm thinking about dinner downtown and maybe tickets to Blue Man Group which we've been wanting to see.  Since the first year is paper (traditional) tickets would cover that.  More modern is a clock or plastic but his taste for watches are expensive.  Maybe a nice designer watch for his office at work.

I got my hubby a book and a clock. I found a book about brewery's (we visit them all the time) and the clock was a very nice desk clock for his office. That way i did paper and clock (traditional and modern).

He got me a video camera (we are about to take a big road trip and he knew I wanted one). He said it has a clock on it and it can take photos you can print to paper. He's a smart one.

I'm currently trying to complete a scrapbook of us before the wedding....we were in a long distance relationship so we had to take trips to see each = pictures. I started it before the wedding (June 07) and trying to finish it in the next few weeks. Since I lost my job, money is tight....I really wanted to purchase stock (another idea I saw somewhere on the web). There is a website where you can purchase stock, have the certificate framed and even have a metal engraving on it. I really wanted to purchase a share in Yahoo since my hubby and I met playing battleship on yahoo. There are so many different stocks...I think this website I checked out was called oneshare.com.

There is this wonderful website called Lulu.com that I use alot to make books for Ronnie. We both write poetry so I got all of his poems and made a book along with some pictures that I thought went well with each poem. Also I made a photo book that he just loved.  Currently him and I are working on a picture boook together. It's a wonderful anniversity gift or just an anytime gift.

I really wanted to plan a weekend away for our first anniversay in June, but my husband is a rookie cop and it's really hard to get time off in the summer months (not to mention his birthday is 5 days before our anniversary).  So then I thought about getting him new golf clubs, turns out, the ones he has are really expensive and the next step would be to get custom made ones (we're talking like $1k, love him dearly but that's a lot of money!)  So then I thought, hmm, he's a cop, what would he like, then I came up with the idea to get him a gift card to purchase his own personal handgun.  Odd, I know, but if you're husband is in law enforcement, you get it :)  Well, you apparenlty can't do that here in NY!  So with less than a month to go, I came up with the idea to get him a gift certificate to get a tattoo.  He mentioned he wanted to get one, and a gift certificate is paper, and I figured he could design something that is symbolic of us!  I'm going to set up a treasure hunt around the house for him to eventually find it!

Something simple always goes over well! One year for Valentine's Day, I took a small box and wrapped it in wrapping paper that had roses all over it. I left it so the box could still be opened. I filled it with small slips of paper, each one saying a reason why I love him. On the front of the box, I wrote "101 Reasons I Love You". It's classic, and fairly cheesy, but he really loved it! We both travel a lot, so he could open one up for every day that we were apart from each other.

I bought my hubby a piece of Disney stock.  We did part of our honeymoon in Disney World so he was thrilled to "own" a piece of it!  It came in a beautiful frame and personalized plaque.  It's real stock, but it's presented like a piece of art.  And it wasn't too expensive...

We just had ours - we went back to the lighthouse where he proposed and had a candlelit dinner on the beach. I made him his favorite dinner (chicken fettuccine alfredo) and we could even see the venue where we got married across the water! Not exactly a paper gift but it was so romantic!

My husband got me the just about the FUNNIEST and most creative 1st anniversary gift ever!  And he sent it to my job so everyone got a kick out of it!  We decided a while back to stick to the traditional gift list and try to be really creative with ideas.  Since the traditional 1st anniversary gift is paper, Scott sent me a PINATA in the shape of a heart that said "Te Amo" (I love you in Spanish!) filled with all my favorite candy!  I LOVED it because it was quite possibly the LAST thing I ever expected!!

To the military wives...I feel your pain! My husband has been gone for over 4 months on a 15 months tour...anyway, my idea is one from a friend. She went to a local print shop and had a full size body pillow printed with a photo of her and she sent it to her hubby (deployed with my husband) for their 1 year, which he missed. Another great idea that I have had great success with is using www.blurb.com - you can get a softcover book starting as low as $7.95 and they are super easy to make!

For our first anniversary, I got my hubby a personalized night sky print from www.indigonight.com. What you do is tell them the location of a special place and a date and they will calculate the position of the moon, stars and planets. You can even add a personalized message for them. My husband thought it was great.

I am getting my husband's gift from kindnote..It's a jar filled with a note each day of the month. Our anniversary is Dec. 1 so there are going to be 31 notes in it..He will open one each day and the jar is filled with decorative things too to make it cute

My husband lost the vows he wrote not long after the wedding (we're thinking it was returned in the tux) but for our first anniversary, he bought a 3 photo frame, put one of our wedding pictures in the middle and what he could recall of his vows he printed out and put in one other space.  He left the third open for my vows to go.  It is the greatest gift he has ever given me!

My husband is a huge Atlanta Braves fan so I found a book "101 Things to Love About the Braves."  I'm still a student so we're on a budget and he really liked it.  Another idea I found a while back was to get a personalized photo puzzle then decorate a box to say "Love you to pieces!"
