Hump Day!

Posted Wednesday, November 04, 2009 12:05 PM

We have this local nursing store that has a "try before you buy" program where you can take a sling home and try it for four days before you decide to buy it.  I've been trying the moby wrap and Seth loves it (most of the time).  I've been putting him in it every time he gets tired and it puts him to sleep faster than anything else.  He has a tendency to force himself to stay awake, which makes him overtired and really cranky.  So the wrap is making it alot easier to put him to sleep, he's actually sleeping in it right now, yay!  I think I'm going to try one more sling before I buy this one though, just to make sure I get the best one.

Has anyone ever used MyPublisher?  It's a website where you can make a photobook and then order it online.  Yesterday I made a Birth Story book.  It has some of our maternity photos, our birth story, photos from the hospital and then thenewborn photos.  I think this is alot easier then developing photos and putting them in an album.

Argh we have to get the H1N1 vaccine but the line-ups are so long plus Danny has several side jobs this week and no time to stand in line.  It's such a pain in the butt.

I've been making a lot of slow cooker meals lately.  Danny and I are going to try and eat vegetarian suppers a couple times a week to save on money.  Does anyone have any good vegetarian slow-cooker recipes?

I can't believe it's November already!

re: Hump Day!

Hm, I wonder if anywhere around here has a program like that for baby slings...that would be really useful!

I used MyPublisher to make a book last year, and I've also used Shutterfly and Blurb. They are all good and I have some very nice books but I must say Blurb is my favorite. I love getting photobooks in the mail, they look so professional! I am making some wedding ones right now for christmas gifts. Enjoy looking at yours!

H1N1 lines are massive here too.  I'm hoping to get one soon, but I can't get anytime off work to go wait in the lines.

That store sounds great and is such a great idea!  I wonder if we have any in our area, I'll have to look.

re: Hump Day!

H1N1 vaccines are only starting to be issued this week over here.  And only for those "at risk"... which doesn't include me at the moment! So won't be getting the jab I don't think.  There were over 9000 new cases in Ireland last week, out of a population of 4million

re: Hump Day!

I made my parents a photo book of me growing up and gave it to them at my rehearsal dinner. I made mine through apple and it came out GREAT! Love the idea of doing this instead of photo albums beacuse you can write on the pages and actually tell a story:)

re: Hump Day!

I have never used MyPublisher but I have used Kodak to create a photobook and it turned out great. Whatever one you use I am sure it will turn out great. It may be a good Christmas gift idea too.

re: Hump Day!

Every time I hear Hump Day I think about sex!

I never tried the Moby Wrap.  Is it easy to put on by yourself?

I use MyPublisher a lot, especially when I do books for brides.

re: Hump Day!

My sister swears by the Moby. I registered for a "sand" colored one because I really enjoyed using it with my niece and nephew! And edmo, I don't think it's complicated to put on at all by myself, it just takes some practice!

re: Hump Day!

It's really easy to put on.  But I find I can only wear him in one position.  I'm going to try the blue celery sling next, it looks easier.

re: Hump Day!

I LOVE my Ergo carrier, but I think it's better when they are about 6 months or older (although it can be used for younger).  I used a sling more than anything else.

re: Hump Day!

I looked at the Moby wrap but bought the Sleepy Wrap instead.  There's only a $10 difference between the prices it looks like but they're basically the same thing and Kara loves it.  I've taken her for walks around the neighborhood, disc golfing and shopping in it.  Girls at the mall were just amazed at it and said it looked like I was just wearing a sweatshirt.

I got my H1N1 vaccine today as part of my 6 week postpartum check up.  I got the fun nasal mist!  Ick.

Have you looked up any bean recipes for the slow cooker?  All of my slow cooker books have mostly meat recipes in them.
