Q: Trouble getting lubricated?
Q. Sometimes I have trouble getting lubricated enough. I'm definitely into it and aroused, but the lubrication isn't there. What can I do?
A. This is often a problem for women aged 35 and older. It’s due to normal hormonal changes. Also, as a woman gets older and approaches menopause, this problem is extremely common. You may even notice that at certain times throughout the month you get more lubricated, and this is linked into your monthly cycle.
If you have any concerns about your monthly cycle or if you're approaching menopause, you may want to speak to your doctor about hormonal treatments. And if you're on the birth control pill, you may want to change your pill. Every pill is different and has different side effects, and every woman experiences different side effects too. However, you might first want to try any of the wonderful lubricants available at good drugstores, online, and adult shops. You can turn using a lubricant into a bit of sex-play and ask your partner to gently and sensuously rub it in.
This may also be related to fatigue if you’re not getting enough rest or feel under par. In that case, you may simply need to look after yourself a bit better; you then might find you won't have any difficulty getting lubricated.
Also, make sure you're not rushing straight to penetrative sex before you've really had time to get aroused. Because even if you're turned on mentally, your body may not have caught up, so ask him to give you loads of fabulous foreplay.
