A Sleepless Night

i. am. tired.

Last night, DH and i tried to go to bed a little early. i think with the "springing ahead" and just the general lack of sleep we've been getting lately, we were just exhausted last night (well i was also exhausted because i put away 4 loads of laundry and cleaned up a little bit)... so we get in bed, DH's head hits the pillow and i kid you not about 2 minutes later it starts... the snoring... and not just a little light here and there snoring... major, sounds like the roselle park train is running through my bedroom snoring... so i lay there for a few minutes, praying to God that i can block it out and just fall asleep... i gently pat him on the shoulder to nudge him back into consciousness and ease the snoring... that works for about .2 seconds. then a small kick to his leg, nothing, then a yank and i shuffle around a bit in the bed... still no results... so i kick him again, harder this time. this gets a very annoyed reaction of "uuhnnnnn" from him and then a return to the horse stampede thru the bedroom.

finally i get up, take a blanket and pillow and go to the living room couch. ok, no biggie, our couch is comfy, i can deal with that... let rob sleep in peace i think to myself, i know he's had a rough few days... i lay down and then i hear it.... gurgle gurgle.... it sounds like someone in running water, loudly... and then i realize what the culprit is... the fish tank... because our condo is freakishly warm (we dont control the heat) the water evaporated from the tank and the filters pour the water back in VERY loudly... so at 11:30 last night i was filling pitcher after pitcher to re-fill the fish tank... sounds like fun, i know you all wish that's what YOU were doing last night...

i finally finish it, get in bed (or couch) and hear the pitter patter of little feet... the puppies of course can't resist a chance to sleep next to mommy... which is fine, if it weren't on the couch, off the couch, 2 hrs later on the couch, off the couch, on the couch, hear a noise, growl and pretend your a big dog, off the couch... all. night. long.

so i repeat...

i. am. tired.

i think if there is snoring tonight, i might lose my mind. on a plus note, maybe this is preparing me for motherhood? having to tend to a baby that's up in the night is similar to this?

re: A Sleepless Night

Oh goodness!  I hope you get more sleep tonight!  My husband snores as well, and if I touch him, it goes away...for a second.  @__@  I feel your pain there!

My husband snores too!  It's so bad.  And he always falls asleep the second his head hits the pillow and I'm left trying to block out his snores with the sound of the TV until I fall asleep.  I feel you.
