We had a relatively nice weekend... I did some cleaning, ran some errands on Saturday, then dinner with some friends that night which was very relaxing. We haven't seen them in a while so it was so good to get together, eat, drink and have a few good laughs... rob made his famous steaks and mashed potatoes, i did french onion soup and my asparagus specialty... M&M brought dessert... the more i think about it, the more i can't wait to get together with them again.
Sunday we got up, went to church and then headed to my parents house for Easter... i brought my Wii with us to keep us entertained for the day. My cousin K came over, she's 23 (the rest of her family were Anti-Easter this year and my other aunt and family were at her in-laws) my grandmother, brother and parents, so it was a small gathering this year...
When i first picked up my wii in the beginning of February, K made fun of me, saying "the family that wii's together, stays together". I explained to her that once you get "older" and don't want to be out til 5am at the clubs anymore, you need to find other things to occupy your time. And as DH and i stay home and try to squirrel away the cash (well minus the cost of the wii, controllers and 2 games, of course!) there are only so many episodes of CSI and CSI Miami to watch in one night! That said, K played her first game of wii bowling at her friend's house last week and guess who wants one now? hahaha... she's hooked!
Anyway, we even got my 82 year old grandmother bowling at one point... and... she kicked all our a$$es! It was pretty funny watching her, but I read an article lately saying they were installing the wii's into senior citizens homes for them to play to keep them active, which i think is a great idea! My grandma loved it... and i think she loved that she was good at it too... i told her we're going to buy her a wii for mother's day so she can have her friends over for bowling night... i think its a way for her to keep her young and on her toes!
So I think I'll bring the wii to all our future gatherings... maybe the family that wii's together does stay together...
