Open House on Sunday

So this weekend we are having our first open house... In anticipation of this house, I went to Target to exchange the towel rack (which was waaay too big) for a smaller one, picked up a new toothbrush holder that matches, and found a nice piece of artwork to hang in the bathroom. DH says we shouldn't hang anything in there, but now that the whole bathroom is i-need-sunglasses white, i opted to get something to at least hang on the one wall.

Other than that, I'm hoping at least a few people come by and we can hurry up and get an offer. The one guy that came to see it, supposedly was interested... but of course haven't heard anything from him or his realtor (i.e. no formal offer).

I, on the other hand, am still keeping my eye on some of the houses i went to see about a month ago. all of them are still up for sale too, which i guess is good for us... some of them have even been dropping in price. So i guess i just have to be patient as hard as that is for me.

DH's store is just about ready. we've been there every night til about 9:30 with the guys from the corporate office, putting the machinery together. So once its all complete, he goes for inspections and should be able to open by the end of the month! As much as I'm looking forward to that, its scary to think that we live so far away, i feel like i'll never see him since he's going to have to work so much! Hopefully though, all these sacrifices will pay off in the long run.

Anyway, before I go, here's my list of things to get done for the open house:

  • Hang towel bar
  • Hang picture
  • Clean bathroom
  • Dust all rooms, windex all rooms
  • Laundry
  • Clear out all paperwork with sensitive information
  • Find somewhere to put wedding gown
I have all day tomorrow to get this stuff done. Wish me luck with it as well as getting an offer!

Good luck on getting it ready.  And good luck on those houses you are looking at.  Everyone is telling me, more and more houses are going up for sale in the area I'm looking at.  Unfortunately, I see why the owners are trying to escape.  So I am glad you have houses worthy of looking at, to keep your eyes on.
