The adventures of Jewish newlywed navigating through the wonderful world of married life.

Out of the box

I wish I could control the universe, but I can't. I can't make the seating chart because I don't know who is coming. I can't write thank you notes for presents we don't have yet. I can't lose 50 pounds in the next two months. But I can finish unpacking -- correct that, I have the ability to do so, but not the will (although it would be nice not to live in a cardboard jungle).

As of right now, 10 boxes wait patiently in our living room to be unpacked -- two more are sitting in one of the bedrooms -- and four plaastic cartons have taken up residence in the bathroom. That doesn't include the mini-department store our dining room has become (wedding presents are awesome, but should be put away at some point). My goal was to unpack a box a night -- so far, it isn't going too well.

My fiance will be going out of town for business soon, at which point I think I can finally get through most of the boxes, at least until another present comes in the mail.Gift
