Making Time
By Amy
So we have these tickets to the Mets game for tomorrow night and I feel like bagging... Work is really busy, my apartment is beyond a disaster, and honestly, I’d rather sit on the couch than in the stands at Shea Stadium. You know what I mean?
But then I thought with this approach, I might as well board the train for Rut-ville with a transfer in Boring-opolis and a final destination in Relationship Burnout.
See, the main reason I agreed to these tix was it was a good way to hang out with SO and watch a sport I actually like and understand (unlike hockey—his fave).
We’re going to the game, though, which is probably a good thing because the hidden bonus of pre-bought tix was a commitment (in our case through cold, hard cash) to a specific set of date nights that we don’t skip or reschedule.
We’ve been to four out of our six games and I’m looking for other ways to spend time together. I thought about signing up to walk dogs for a shelter, but with our schedules right now, I’m not sure another living being should depend on us. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Here are some “at-home” vacations, which is the only kind of getaway we’re going to get away with for awhile...
