This Is Bad

By Jeanine

Happy Halloween everyone! It’s totally festive here at The Nest -- decorations, candy and even costumes! In honor of the holiday, let me begin by introducing you to some of the cutest kids I’ve ever seen -- all dressed up! This is too cute!

Now, onto my dilemma for the day. I was talking to one of my friends yesterday and she asked me what I did over the weekend. As I thought back, I realized I didn’t do much of anything -- except watch TV, a LOT of TV actually. Immediately, I started making excuses for my lameness. I was feeling flu-like and tired from the work week. All my friends were out of town. It was too windy to go anywhere nice. But then, as I started to think about it, it wasn’t just this weekend: I watch a lot of television, in general. And then I came to the realization that my life basically revolves around television. My friends all know that Thursday are off limits because of Grey’s (Anatomy, that is) and I always run out early on my grandmother’s Sunday dinners so I don’t miss Desperate Housewives and my new favorite show, Brothers & Sisters. As if that’s not bad enough, even my conversations are about TV. Before Project Runway ended, my mom and I would call each other and recap every little detail. Even at the office, the girls and I have a weekly ritual of discussing our favorite shows. In my defense, I did go to boarding school where TV was basically non-existent so in essence I’m just making up for all the television I missed out on. But I’m not so deep in denial that I don’t realize I might need to get a life -- that doesn’t revolve around TV shows. So, in an attempt to better myself, I was hoping some of you could help me come up with things I can do to better utilize my time. I’m pretty much open to anything, so all ideas are welcome. Keep in mind, though, I’m not going cold turkey, so Thursdays are still off-limits. TIA!!

PS: And for the glutton in me, what are some of your favorite shows? Just out of curiosity, of course…
