What's Cooking?

By Kristen

Lately, I’ve become strangely interested in The Nest’s What’s Cooking board. I love reading all of the Nestie’s recipe raves, ideas, and suggestions. The strange thing is, I hardly ever cook at home. Every morning when I leave for work I make a diligent promise that today will be the day that OH and I decide to cook at home, and every day, some sort of excuse comes up before I actually cook the food: I leave work too late to bother with cooking. I hate Mondays so we should order in as a treat. It’s Tuesday so it’s date night. We don’t have any food. It’s two-for-one night at the French bistro down the block. You name it, I’ve used it as an excuse.

I love cooking, and I especially love trying new recipes. The problem is, I can never find the motivation. I argue with OH because he says we eat out way too often (we’re talking 4 to 5 nights a week sometimes), and I know we’re wasting money that we should be saving.

How often do you eat out? Cook? Order in? How are you motivated to cook every night, especially after a long day at work? And what’s your go-to meal when your creativity is drained and you can’t figure out what to cook?

Help! It’s my turn to cook tonight.
