Better to Give...

By Jeanine

Okay, so to start off, I have to begin with a rave for Dreamgirls. It was great -- so good, in fact, that I saw it twice in row! I’ve seen the play, so I was anxiously waiting for the movie, but even if you have no prior Dreamgirls knowledge, I definitely recommend you go see it anyway. Everyone is great, but Jennifer Hudson is by far the best -- every song she sings is absolutely amazing. Her rendition of “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” brought tears to my eyes -- both times I heard it! Anyways, as you can probably tell I am a little obsessed but it really was fantastic and you should all go see it:)

And because this is the season for giving, I just wanted to share this website I just found out about. It’s called Nest (not to be confused with The Nest). Nest is a nonprofit organization that sells all kinds of unique products like clothing, jewelry, and home décor made by women from all around the world. Nest gives these women loans to help start their businesses, so when you purchase off the site you’re also helping these women out. For a shopaholic like myself, this site is so great. Not only do I get to buy stuff that not that many other people will have, but my money is not going to some huge corporation, but instead to a really good cause. I know the big gifting holidays are almost over, but if you ever need a birthday present for your BFF, an anniversary present for you MIL, or just a little something nice for yourself, you should definitely check it out. My mom’s birthday is in February, so I ordered these really cute gold and pearl drop earrings for her.

If you don’t find what you’re looking for at Nest, though, you can always check out The Nest where we’ve completely revamped our gift guide to include gifts for all occasions. We’re always adding to it, so definitely check back regularly for new items.
