What Are You Doing for New Year's Eve?

By Lori

Every year I feel like there is this intense pressure to do something totally amazing for New Year's Eve. It's sort of like chasing the fun... trying to find the most fabulous party to attend and the cutest dress to wear, without pre-spending your entire 2006 tax return, of course! I think I got more caught up in the frenzy, though, when I was single. When I got married all I wanted to do was ring in the new year with DH... and if that meant cooking dinner at home and chilling out on the sofa, then that was fabulous enough for me!

Fast forward to now. I'm 35 weeks pregnant, looking pretty round (if I wore something glittery I could rival the ball they drop in Times Square), and under doctor's orders to rest so my DH and I are just heading to a small gathering at a neighbor's apartment right in our building -- super-easy, no travel and I'm loving it.

What are you and DH doing for New Year's Eve?

P.S. All of us at The Nest wish you and your families a wonderful and happy new year!

I think NYE is slightly overrated, especially if (like us) you have spent the entire Christmas holiday shuttling back and forth between family and friend gatherings. SO we are planning on making a good dinner, renting a video, and hanging out. Considering that we don't get to do that too often, I am really looking forward to it.
