Extreme Organization

By Lori

With two demanding full-time jobs, a mortgage, and now a new baby, the only way DH and I can survive day-to-day is by running our home with extreme organization. We make shopping lists for everything, sync our digital calendars together (we love our Macs and we love our iCal!), pay our bills online, stay in touch by text messaging on our cell phones, keep the anxious family up-to-date on baby info with a special email mailing list, remember when and how much the baby has eaten by using a "CooperTracker" we created... and it goes on.

When my mom was here to help after Cooper was born, she got a chuckle out of our obsession with lists and calendars. Maybe it's a generational thing, but I had to explain why our survival as a modern, busy family depended on these things to make it through the week. If DH and I didn't meticulously keep track of it all, how the heck would we remember to get anything get done?

How do you and DH organize your busy lives? Any tips for the rest of us frantically busy Nesties?
