Great Vacation Spots -- What's Yours?

Sunset in Aruba

My DH and I just came back from Aruba and I'm still trying to get back into the swing of things.  This was our second trip to Aruba and it is one of our all-time favorite places to go on vacation.

We love it because there really is nothing to do except swim in the fabulous hotel pools or hang out on the beach.  It is, in a sense, forced relaxation!

Hotel Pool - The Radisson

We're already trying to think of the next place we want to go on vacation.  I'm thinking that I'd love to go to London and Paris... or maybe even rent an RV and do a cross-country trip!

What are some of your favorite vacation spots?  I put a couple of pictures into my photos -- I'd love to see yours!

Isla Mujers, Mexico ...a very small island off the coast of Cancun.  It's absolutely beautiful!  We've been there 3 times (the last time being forour wedding).  This May we're breaking the cycle and trying out a new region- the Mediterranean!

Seattle : )

I know, there's no palm trees or white sand beaches but DH and I simply ADORE that place. Other than that, my dream is to go to Thailand. It's a beautiful country, as well as being a very spiritual place.

I definitely agree with Mexico.  Anywhere on the Yucatan Pennisula is wonderful!  Cancun, Cozumel and Playa del Carmen are very commercial, but there are lots of resorts that are nice, quiet and relaxing inbetween.  That way you can do excursions to the commercial places, not stay there!  The people are so friendly - they love Americans there unlike a lot of other places!  The crime rate is also very low, which is always a plus!  We went for our honeymoon and our one year anniversary.  Oh, and the flight is short - only 2 1/2 hours from NC.

We absolutely ADORE both Kona, Hawaii (Big Island) and Hilton Head Island, SC.  Kona and the Big Island feels very realxed-Hawaii.  No big metropolis, no night clubs, just the island (mostly) as God made/is making it.

Hilton Head we go to every year, and stay at Disney's resort down there.  It's SO relaxing and SO family-friendly.  And the dining in HH?  Best seafood selection anywhere, imo.

We are going to Aruba for our honeymoon in May.  We've never been, but I am excited to hear how everyone loves it ;-)  In July we are going to Cancun, and then November will we heard down to Florida to visit the grandparents.  Our *dream* trip would be to go the FP.  Maybe for our 10 yr anniversary or something.  I've also been to Australia, and loved it.  Everyone should go there once in their lifetime.  Fraser Island, Kingfisher Bay Resort is awesome.  And Lady Musgrave Island is a great place to snokel the Great Barrier Reef.  (I could go on forever...)
