What are you saving for?
The summer's almost over, and it's getting closer and closer to my move-in date. Although I have no space to put it in yet (I'm still on the epic apartment search...), I've been saving up over the summer for some new furniture to, well...furnish my new apartment. Maybe if I save enough to fill up this cute piggy bank I'll have enough for that bookcase from Ikea I've been eying.
Saving up my moolah in the summer seems harder than it is during the rest of the year. There's tons of spending temptation; frequent visits to the Dairy Queen (because it's just to hot to pass on ice cream), that cute sun dress that goes great with the hot weather, and, of course, those impromptu weekend beach trips. Forty dollars for gas, twenty for snacks to fill up the cooler, ten for parking, and a couple extra bucks for a margarita at the beach-side bar. Summer fun can really add up.
What have you and DH been saving up for this summer? How do you avoiding spending all your money on those summertime temptations?
