Mail Call

There are certain bills and documents that I still can't seem to keep track of - no matter how hard I try. Even though I pay most of my bills online, I find that some papers I really need to keep. However, without fail, I can never seem to find those papers when I really need them. (Obviously!) Days after my search they turn up stuck between magazine pages, under a package of coupons, or have assumed the role of bookmark in the latest novel I am reading. So I am taking a fresh start for fall and going bold and graphic when filing paperwork together. Check out this letter holder at momastore.org that I shouldn't be able to miss. Here's hoping! Do you have any secret organizing tips for your everyday routines that don't interfere with your overall decorating style?

re: Mail Call

We deal with the mail immediately.  Anything that needs to be filed goes into the "File Pile" Inbox in the office.

I have a second location for bills that I need to pay or update online, which is located right next to my computer so I remember to do them.

We trade off on who has to do the filing once the File Pile is full.  Bills that are paid we shred and toss.  I like to be efficient!

re: Mail Call

Mail is so much easier to deal with at our house since we joined greendimes.com

I first heard about the service on Oprah - Matt Damon was talking about this wonderful company that helps decrease the amount of junk mail you receive.  It's a small investment ($15) but a huge savings in so many ways ... less mail, less waste!!

Mail comes in, what we don't need gets tossed, bills are paid, and then left in the office to file.  Magazines are put in their proper place so they don't clutter up the countertop.
