Hello?? Need I say more?? Oh my god, about 9:30 last night I melted into a puddle on the floor at the Sears Centre and haven't been able to mop myself up yet! A girlfriend and I braved one of the worst snow storms of the year and treaked 300 miles to Chi-Town to see our absolute favorite band...Matchbox Twenty! Wow. Seriously. Wow! It is the best live show I've ever seen. I love how it's just about the MUSIC! No light shows, no flying acrobats, no back up choirs...just real honest to goodness awesome music. I've never met a Matchbox Twenty song I didn't like!
I remember the day I first heard their new single in the car on the radio. I thought...is it possible, could it be?? NEW Matchbox Twenty, really?? It is!! I slammed on the breaks, did a "U-ie" in the middle of the road and booked it to Wal-Mart to get my copy of their new CD. Okay, not really...but I would of, had I not been on my way to work that morning. When I saw they were touring, I knew I just had to go.
This was actually my second time seeing them. I saw them in 2000, first semester of my freshman year in college. We were on the floor and we were so close we could have reached out and touched him. This time...yeah, we were in the last row of the top section but still, just as good, if not better, than last time. Hello, we are talking 10 years of awesome tunes here! Totally takes you right back to high school and college. Who wouldn't want to rock out to 3AM like it was 1998...or Bent like its 2000...or Unwell like its 2003. And now all the new stuff from this year!!! Wow, I just can't get over it. I'm on such a concert high!
I LOVE them!! I will be 80 years old and STILL cranking those songs. Do NOT miss this tour this year...it is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!
