You know, in revisiting Jon Huntsman's website, I don't understand why he didn't go farther than he did.

He seems like a no-nonsense kinda person.  I just remember all the pundits saying that Mitt Romney was the only one who could beat Obama...well we all know that wasn't true.

I just hope this gives the Republicans the kick in the a$$ it needed to move them into this century and give us a candidate who just "gets it." 

Because he dared to say that evolution and climate change were real things and not vast left-wing conspiracies. 

Am I the only conservative to realize there is no such thing as a perfect candidate? I may not agree with everything about Huntsman....but his economic plan made a whole lot of sense (to me) and for a lot of people the economy was a big factor in the election.

I now kinda feel robbed that Mitt Romney was shoved down my throat as the one and only person who could get the job done.

Please know, I am not complaining...I am actually glad I get this opportunity to reevaluate the things that are important to me. 

 

 

 

 

 

uh, no your not.  my mom liked huntsman as well. everyone thought romney was the best pic because he could appeal to the dems that didn't want to vote obama. he was not my first pic either.   There will never be a perfect candidate.

I am not a Republican, but I would never vote for any of those men.  Huntsman, Powell, or another moderate Republican could maybe sway me depending on the other candidates.  

I will say that if she does well in the Senate, we may see Elizabeth Warren running, and unless she changes a lot in the next 4 years I would be excited to vote for her.

I do like President Obama though, so the next four years can go by slowly for all I care.  

Thanks for your input, I am interested especially in hearing from democrats in who might be a candidate who is relevant for all people. 

I will have to read up on Warren, I will admit I really no nothing about her other than she is a Dem.

I know libs tend to be pro-Huntsman, but honestly I can't remember any of his positions aside from the fact that he acknowledged climate change and evolution.  That bodes well so it'd be nice to see him and others like him in 2016.  

They need to move away from the Hermain Cains and Michelle Bachmans, and ultimately reinstate reason and sanity.  Over the past couple years they've been so extreme that even a pedigreed politician like Romeny couldn't cover up the crazy.  As much as they hate Obama, they need to realize that he's become more moderate while they've become more fringe.

I think there are a lot of people like that, honestly. Probably moreso than there are people on the extreme right or left. The problem is, the extremes tend to be the ones with the power on either side. So, for example since he's already popular in this thread, Jon Huntsman. He is fairly moderate. I would have voted for him, I think. But, the far right did not approve of his more middle of the road thinking and pushed him aside.

I don't like Christie at all.  Being the president is as much about about public persona as it is about policy.  I don't live in NJ, so perhaps the state has benefited under Christie, but he just comes across like such a blowhard.  I can't even fathom him representing this country on an international level.  

And I am honestly curious if anyone thinks he would pass the physical? I don't even know if there is a minimum health requirement or if its just tradition, but I want my president to be healthy.
