Having Trouble with Friends?

Hey, has anyone else after getting married realized that suddenly, they are having issues realizing why they had their old friends in the first place? Or even before that, when was the period when you realized you had either "outgrown" your friends or simply moved on?

Just asking because I am quickly realizing that I hate not having friends my own age however all of the friends my age are more concerned with renting, hosting keggers and figuring out ways on how to NOT get arrested...while I am more concerned with nicer parties, outings, working on my house and discussing politics.

ummm yes and no. I have always been more mature for my age so all my friends are older or are like me. However after my wedding I did just cut out a long time friend (8 years in fact). We just havent been on the same "level" for a very long time. It really sucked. Big time. But sometimes you just have to keep moving. And either they keep moving with you, or they don't. Maybe try just backing off a little before you totally give up on them though.

I think it's natural to kind of reassess your life and those in it once you get married. Try not to stress too much about it and just do what makes you happy.

HTH!
