It's a horribly sickening situation. And for the two innocent parties, my heart goes out to them. I hope, in the end, they are the ones who find the ultimate happiness because they dam* sure deserve that. I know both people and they are very, very sweet people. I often wondered why the one was with her (I knew him in high school) but I thought it was because I didn't like her anyway.
