Interesting observation. Without too much backgroud search, what career path do you think makes a most successful president?

One with a law degree?

One with a PhD in Political History/some Political area?

ONe with a MBA/businessman?

One with an acting track record?

Would it surprise you that in the last 20 years, we've had 1 JD, 2 businessmen, and one, well, actor?

Interesting.

Oddly enough, Gretchen, Acting may not be that bad of a deal.  I mean, at least that will make us favourable in the diplomatic area, right?  Pretending that we're ok? Giving us a (false) sense of security that all is fine in the world, and you can go on spending!!!!  And then have fantastic literary skills to write about it.

Mission accomplished!!!

All the new emoticons in this format just add an additional layer of nuance to posts and what they mean.  My interpersonal comm. skills are constantly challenged.  I love it.

And Tracy, I do wish you luck!! (I just read your profile.)

It would be interesting to hear her opinion, especially since I would like her to explain the link between Muslim ideosyncracies and right to bear arms.

And I'd like her to explain the need to go to that rhetoric. Especially since, in all actuality, I wasn't even thinking of Obama, I was thinking of Clinton and the Bushes (and Reagan, of course), since there's an education stereotype that I was probably (blindly) engaging.

I was interested in what academic qualities would anyone prefer, but tracy decided to give me a bullcrap rhetoric, which I'm quite tired of, rather.  I mean, really, how long is needed to not take muslim extremism into consideration? In ~500 years, people will forget about Muslim extremist? And a muslim will be able to take the white house without fear of religious extremism, right?  What is that the statue of limitations?  I mean, after the barbaric Christianity killings in America in the name of christ, the majority of this nation is ok with this religion, and we don't question it?  But if a voodoo person or a santero were to run for office, that's all people focus on?

Right?

Well, until Tracy comes back we may never know (until the next alarmist e-mail forward, that is) the statute of limitations for her. I was interested in this phrase:  "caters to all naturally"

Do I want a politician that caters to all?  What would that realistically look like as it relates to the office of the Presidency.  It seems impractical and impossible in my mind.  I wanted her take on what she meant by that.

Oh yeah, the invocation of the 2nd Amendment totally threw me for a loop, too!

Again, come back, Tracy!!

Ok gfirls ~ I'm "back" (meds are making me awfully sleepy ~ went to bed early....get up early....) ~ and after finding out our (my) Rep Elect is bringing a no-knowledge woman from Alaska (Gov. Palin) on we might just be stuck with Mr. Obama who wants to take away our guns (yes, being a Yankee believe in 2nd Amendment) ~ AND LOVED Bush (and the Jelly beans!) ~ am from PA ~ voted Republican ~ (don't know if you girls think it's good OR bad ~ needless to say everyone does have rights and I choose Rep..) ~ the only saving grace (in my mind) of Obama is his counterpart who will try and persuade him to keep the guns with their rightful owners ~ research on the NARA ~ one of Obama's main objectives is to disarm those rightful individuals who have their own guns legally ~ which opens all up to terroristic possibilities ~ and gangbangers ~ again, sorry ~ when having a 11yr old daughter in a school district that's supposed to be safe then the gang-banger families come down from NY (or other places...NY for us...).. and enter your neighborhoods you had better be able to protect you & yours and with Obama taking the possibility from all away it's just ludicrous.

What I meant by "caters to all" (I put it down wrong....) ~ I meant felt the needs of the AMERICAN public ~ for God's sake he REFUSES to wear a f'n FLAG!....there is PLENTY of other proof that he shouldn't even be running.......I would rather Hillary been the one still running ~ NOT OBAMA.....sorry.....BUT ~ AGAIN ~ I am a true republican and with all the latest news out seems we ALL HAVE NO CHOICE because McCain seems to be having alot of scenility problems ~ watch Whoopie on the View ~ I don't agree with ALL of what she says, but alot of it just makes perfect sense.......
