Does sweet potato give diarrhea?

I have been trying to find grain-free treats for Laddie (the collie) as I think he has a grain allergy. 

I was giving him Evo grain-free treats but yesterday I bought grain-free sweet potato & fish treats to try as well...and Laddie's stools have been a lot looser. I was thinking this was the only change from yesterday to today but I also got him Merrick lamb lung treats.

Too much change in treats? Or do you think it could be the sweet potato? Or something else? Perhaps I am completely overrreacting!

FWIW, I haven't used the Evo ones before, but I used to buy those freeze-dried sweet potato chews and if I gave more than one small chew it did tend to make my little guy's stools looser. He's got a sensitive tummy anyways though, so I thought maybe that was just him.

I think it depends on the dog, but sweet potato make our dogs have looser stool than normal.  I have been reading that it is common in dogs with allergies.  I try to use pumpkin instead and it helps.
