I have a baby shower with my best friends today at an awesome restaurant, so at least I have that to look forward to.

ETA- not a shower for me! Its for my friend who is due in two months :)

Hehe, don't worry, she won't stay in forever.  I know it's not helpful, but the average first-time mom will go 10 days overdue without intervention.  Sounds like you have a good attitude about it. :)

Aww!  You seem to have a really great attitude about it.  Good for you.

Just keep telling yourself that babies' brains do a lot of developing in those last few weeks -- so you're doing the right thing by letting her decide when to come out!

Enjoy the shower!!

(I felt sure I would go past 40 weeks so I planned all sorts of activities for that last week (pedicure, etc.).  I found great, sick pleasure in answering the question, "When are you due?"  The looks on people's faces were priceless (I was ENORMOUS).)

Oh you MUST go places today and when people ask when you're due, say 'Today'. Or even better, say 'a few days ago'.

People's reactions will make up for all the stupid crap people say to you when you're pg. It's priceless. 

In my vast, vast experience, post-term babies have a much easier temperament. My DD2 is also a complete overachiever (crawled at 4.5month, walked 5 days past her 9mo birthday, etc). We call her superbaby.

At this point, I am really fine with letting her cook a bit more. I'm a lot more comfortable now than I was a few weeks ago with my back and shingles. I'm trying to get out of the house every day, see my friends and catching up on reading and tv ;)
